assuming BC remains something that is stable and trusted
And that's a big assumption. As you probably know, it is possible for the supply of something to go steadily downward and for the value to fall as well -- all that has to happen is for demand to fall faster than supply. The more people mistrust Bitcoin and refuse to use it as a medium of exchange, the lower the value goes.
My friends, it is high time for us to put away partisan bickering and just agree that in this great nation, there is room for many opinions on the question of whether 15 is greater than 5, or less than 5, or equal to 5, or even not a number at all. Perhaps we will never know the answer. Perhaps it is up to each of us to decide for ourselves. So it is important that we in the media give equal time to all perspectives on the matter.
Today I have with me on the panel a Baptist minister, a gun rights activist, pop star Miley Cyrus, and our friend "Carl the Carpenter". Let's start with you, Miley. But first, tell us about your new video...
Actually, such an app would be really useful for those people on the autistic spectrum who have difficult reading facial expressions. It could help them tremendously with socialization.
Agreed, but I'd go even further: it has to be available in so many different styles of frames -- all of which are plausibly "ordinary", and *none* of which are branded as "Google Glass" -- that people simply give up on trying to figure out whether any given eyeglass wearer has Google glass built in.
Yes, this would open the doors to adoption by a lot of creeps, but it seems pretty inevitable. And the creeps can film you with hidden cameras right now anyway.:-(
It's interesting that even posting about Roko's Basilisk may cause great distress to certain individuals on LessWrong, who once tried to suppress it's very existence: http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/R...
Some people familiar with the LessWrong memeplex have suffered serious psychological distress after contemplating basilisk-like ideas — even when they're fairly sure intellectually that it's a silly problem.[5] The notion is taken sufficiently seriously by some LessWrong posters that they try to work out how to erase evidence of themselves so a future AI can't reconstruct a copy of them to torture.[6]
Huh? The submitter didn't make anything up... the quote was clearly from the bottom of this LA Times article, which was their very first link in the summary:
Photoshopping a single image can be done easily in ways that make the edits virtually undetectable, even for the casual home user. But an amateur attempting to edit two nearly-identical images (e.g., to modify body shapes, or skin tone, or to get rid of unwanted parts of the scene) would almost certainly leave behind inconsistencies that simple image analysis could detect.
...Today, that is.
There will probably be a niche for home-use 3D Photoshop extensions that perform activities like airbrushing, texture duplication, etc. on two images simultaneously in a manner that always results in a clean combination of the two by effectively performing the edits in 3-space. Heck, such technology may already be in use in movie studios that are cranking out 3D movies with live actors that must be composited with generated scenes.
Sounds like a good plan... a lot of people use sites like Tinder and Grindr to find both head and tail.
Did you say "overlords"? You meant "protectors": https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Not only that, but remember the old adage: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
I'd say it depends on precisely where those acres of land are. :-)
You keep out of this.
No, no, that was back in January 2015.
And before that, back in January 2015.

Plus a million points for referring to the "underscore is understood" mnemonic.

A Javascript framework for writing a TODO list app? That's GREAT idea! And I know JUST how to do it! (starts typing)
I doff my cap to you sir: that is indeed superior. :-)

This time, try 1-2-3-4-6! That's the new password on my luggage!

I was just in the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and that is literally what I did. :-(
