What you may want to, is join a project that is more inline with Linux as whole versus a single app. Ubuntu or another general distro, or help with a small single use distro like IPCop. They should be glad to have some one like you help out.
Should read my story of VNC and my daughter thinking that "Ghost Writer" was on her computer. That lasted years, and I had great written conversions with her, that I had to have "no knowledge" about. Was able to get to talk to me directly about what was issue.
My kids have been on the internet since a age of 2 (each).
Yes, the browser was pointed to Disney or Sesame Street, but they learned to go where they wanted to go. My oldest had the lock Netscape, but around 5yr I came one day found she had found away to URL prompt. So from that day forward I have left the browsers unlocked. My youngest first words would to the effect of "mom-dot-see-oh-em'.
Yes, I check on kids usage via firewall logs from time to time, but find nothing wrong. I even enter their rooms to see what they are doing (but VNC is easier).
My wife while telling about the birds and bees, also give the kids on-line lessons as well. Showing what happens when you mis-type some kids site names and showing how to get out of the mistake.
It is up to us to raise our kids.
It is up the Richard Blumenthals of the world to find a new job and let us raise our kids!
Now it is more a family joke, but that was also because she figured out who Santa Claus was, but could not figure out who Ghhost Writer was. She was 8 and started to get her 3yr old sister talking to ghost writer on that machine. Each had their own.
My oldest, now 15, was 6 at the time thought "Ghost Writer" from the TV show was "talking" to her via her computer...
I installed VNC to maintain her computer along with others in the house. I was playing one day, with her via VNC by moving her mouse, click on things. She opened NotePad and asked if I was Ghost Writer. I said yes, for the next two years we (including her mother) had great conversations (even helped with spelling) via this method without her catching on that it her parents she was talking to.
We did had to explain to my daughter's friends' parents what was going on when they wanted to buy the same program we were using, since your daughter was telling friends at who she was talking to, even demoed to (opps on are part)
We did find out things via Ghost Writer that we were not told about directly as parents though. So we had to keep them a secret until Ghost Writer could talk her into telling her parents about the issue.
Each message needs an importance. Say 0 to 100. 100 being really important. Let user pick how important to care about. BUT ALWAYS LOG THEM. Real important will show up and be clicked on to go ahead. Un-important will just be in the log.
I have k6-3 with dual 20G that was driving me nuts. Sat 2ft from me. I took off the outer shell (one piece and fit corrugated boxes parts in the space between the frame and shell. The placed the outer shell back on (tight fit). Silence the unit right up drives and fans. Did have to check that the airflow was good.
And has that clause been supported by case law? What court has seen it?
The question first is "do you believe it is yours?", then "are you willing to fight over it?".
If a group sets out to create "agents" in the game, rack them with "tools", "points" and what not, then sell that "agent" for real money outside the game. And make REAL money, they could then look at taking the company to court and suing them for "restrain of trade" or pushing the EULA is "unconciousable" breaking it and all other EULA like it.
Yes, numbers generally are not needed or meaningful except to say "this is more resent than that". So starting with V08 is not a problem since V08 could mean 2008.
Does your company have other software that is *MUST* work with this software?
If yes - the numbers can matter. It is easier to keep compatibility, if all software has similar numbering systems. Look at VMWare were each has it own numbering system - how do to tell easily that X V1.5 works with Y V3.5.
Think about taking your company into dropping numbers for years or V08. This makes a better case of aligning one product with even other companies' products. Such MS Office 2007.;-)
My wife and I got married at 6:28am (sunrise) at Point Bonita Lighthouse (just outside of Golden Gate Bridge). My father and my mother told me later that we had the best wedding and reception (back at our apt, food was on time bake). Small - only those that will get up at 3am to get to location on Apr 15th - friends were accountants. No seating issues - all stood where they wanted (my parents were divorced and remarried). Cost was $2k - rings, location, minster, dress, two sets of shoes (first was not died the right color) & suit.
Afterwards my wife informs me that our daughter's wedding will be fairy tale. I now have 3 girls... oh boy!
Towns in AR are incorporated around county land. The town has 1% added to already 5% making 6% - FOR THE TOWN LAND. Post Office makes these two lands appear as 1 so the only choice is charging the 6% for the county land. Military Bases and Parks also fall into these traps.
Washington state has MTA the follow the boundaries elementary school districts. Again you do not know for a given address if it is in or out school district.
Mobile AL has MTA so EVERY postal code two rates.
Texas has multiple rates that can add up to 3% over the state rate, but they are added in order so that if the full rate can be used (ie going over 3% total) then it skipped and you add the next rate.
Memphis Area has sales tax rate ONLY for the first $2500 then it drops to 0.
In most states Sales Tax is charged at the point of consumption (ie Where is the Cash Register). But that can also mean "Where is the customer's mailbox" since the goods are being delievered to customer, no consumption occurred until delivery. Texas just changed theirs back to be where the business is located, to help delivery companies (like flower) from having to figure out all the local tax rates.
Even the large tax rate companies are not being of help. They need a system that does Address Correction and Tax Rate following geo-boundaries.
Open the boarders - but require these truly need professionals be given Green Card. Improve the labor pool. Also hold the payscale up. Because now they are competing fairly.
Today outsourcing is about coders not developers. In the US, we are more inline with developers - they think about the project and come up with their own ideas and improve the project. Coders just follow instruction and nothing more.
In the last century, this conversation would be about craftsmen and assembly workers. The first worked on project to make something special - say a chair - the second makes parts that are assembled. The first each as a work of art, there can be little differences based on the wood. The second maked mass produced item all identical but weaker since the quaility of wood is not what the care about.
And go and try to argue about the programming is like the second. It is not. Once the original is created exact copies are made with no "effort" execpt placement on a disk in a box.
All of these require a computer AND if you do not have one. Or you like to work in a group to learn instead all around one screen... a few extra computers - maybe with Ubuntu or another Linux would be a great help.
In Computers alone: 6 Do THREE of the following:
a. Use a database manager to create a troop roster that includes the name, rank, patrol, and telephone number of each Scout. Show your counselor that you can sort the register by each of the following categories: rank, patrol, and alphabetically by name.
b. Use a spreadsheet program to develop a food budget for a patrol weekend campout.
c. Use a word processor to write a letter to the parents of your troop's Scouts inviting them to a court of honor. Use the program's mail merge feature to make a personalized copy of the letter for each family.
d. Use a computer graphics program to design and draw a campsite plan for your troop, OR design a flyer for an upcoming troop event.
e. Using a software package of your choice, develop a short presentation about a topic that has been approved by your counselor. For your presentation create at least 10 slides.
f. Using an Internet search engine, find ideas about how to conduct a troop court of honor or campfire program. Print out a copy of the ideas from at least three different Web sites. Share what you found with your counselor, and explain how you used the search engine to find this information.
g. Using a digital camera, take a picture of a troop activity. Transfer the picture file to a computer and use photographic software to make it small enough to send easily as an e-mail attachment. Then, using a computer connected to the Internet (with your parent's permission), send an e-mail to someone you know. In your message, include the photograph as an attachment. Verify that the person received your e-mail and was able to view the attachment.
h. Describe two computer chip-based devices, and explain how they are "smarter" because of the chip and its program.
7 Do ONE of the following:
a.
b. Using a software package of your choice for computer aided design (CAD), create an engineering-style drawing of a simple object. Include the top, bottom, and at least one side view and the dimensions.
c. Use a general purpose programming language to write a simple program application of your choice, subject to approval by your counselor.
d. Design a Web page for your troop, patrol, school, or place of worship. You need not post the page to a Web site. However, if you decide to do so, you will first need to get your parent's permission and your counselor's approval, as well as permission from the host site.

This is called a cruise-missile.
The fore runner of a cruise-missile was Kamikaze of WWII. 9/11 planes were the largest. Then again a suicide-boomer is a walking form.
Now we are making planes smart, to duplicate the ability of cruise-missile.
So when will it get a warhead?

I di not say it improved mine. Ghost Writer asked her for her spelling words.

Dump CS from schools. Teach MATH!. Math drives CS. If you can not even figure out how to do A^2 + B^2 = C^2, how will you understand computers.

Don't place stupid things to "fly by".
To me it "jumped the shark" when it landed on planet and everyone got off.
But the picture to BG jumping into to sky and falling then jumping away was just great video. Very believable.

You are lucky. I get nothing but a "blank" video.
Not ready for prime time.
That is so complicated. The "beach ball" idea from the two current rovers was much better.
Maybe if the Sky Crane was a ballon system so it can float around Mars would make this better. But still way too complicated.
