From the overview: D's object oriented nature comes from classes. The inheritance model is single inheritance enhanced with interfaces. The class Object sits at the root of the inheritance heirarchy, so all classes implement a common set of functionality. Classes are instantiated by reference, and so complex code to clean up after exceptions is not required.

Pardon me, but Steve Buscemi riding a Nuclear Bomb Strandelove-style is most certainly a redeeming quality. And liv tyler's hot. And Bruce Willis injects an air of coolness into everything he does, like a highly contagious desease. He can't help it. The movie may have licked anal warts, but it had redeeming qualities.

I disagree on this particular subject. It isn't a "broken field", so much as an ignored one. Most programs just don't adhere to the 'rules'/processes of software engineering, and they come out buggy/crappy because of this. Truly engineered software projects (such as those by NASA and other system-critical developers) have true level of respectability. Equal to those of physical engineering.

I learned C++ four 4 years in College, with a year of pascal in highschool before that. My first job was C. I had no problem whatsoever falling into procedural programming. I really have no idea why you would say what you said; it doesn't make much sense. C++ is C with some extensions and a different programming methodology. BTW, I believe most universities go straight to C++ w/o bothering to touch on C at all. (Though they may start out w/ something simpler like java.) Anyway, next time give some reasons when spouting your ideology, please. That would make it more palatable

Maybe it was call the story of tux? Anyway, when segfault recovers go there and go to top stories and find "The [Legend|Story] of Tux" That was the best. This is a close second, though.

I agree with you completely. While I understand what that did and why they did it, kibibyte just sounds so stupid! Just say it out loud. They can come up with something that has as much meaning but doesn't make you feel like a 2nd grader when you say it. Could just call it Kbytes or kibyes or something. The whole *bibytes thing's gotta go.

UCITA is a pretty big issue among/.ers, I'd think. Are there any major efforts to fight this act? If so, how or where can I (we) find them? I personally think it would be a crime to allow this to pass.

I noticed that too, but it didn't really bother me. Often in the middle of a forest there can be lots of large meadows. Doesn't have to be a road, and it certainly doesn't mean they can't be very lost.

On the Neverwinter Nights website, it mentions that all classes require the same amount of experience to level, and instead level limits are imposed. (or something.) Sounds stupid to me. Now humans have no advantage over demi-humans. (Well, except for dual-class.) Level limits suck. Anyway, second edition still looks better than 3rd addition sounds (from your post.) Not to mention I have no intention of dumping any more cash into AD&D.

I really think it's better to have a few passwords for various levels of importance than to write your passwords down. Important passwords shouldn't be written down under any circumstance, and unimportant ones, well just use the same password for all of them. Oh, and NY times remembers your password for you, w/ a cookie I assume, so it's not really ironic at all.
