    Well diversity is what you get with open source, no one suggests eveyone should run just linux, or just bsd, or just exim or just sendmail or whatever.

    Point is there are more holes per installation in IIS then in apache 2.0.4 with linux 2.4.24, or other combinations of open source software. Whether this is because of a monogenus attitude or shoddy programming is irelevent

    Yes, microsoft have helpfully emailed the patch to all it's customers, all you need to do is run the program and you'll be safe.

    Protesting groups will always find something to moan about, because if the world follwed their advice then they'd be out of a job. First we have fossil fuels, protesters moan, we invent nuclear, protesters moan, we build wind farms, protesters moan, we build tidal power stations, protesters moan. What makes you think they wont complain about solar or fusion?

    Of course protesters complain about other protesters. Local people complain about trucks passing through their village, we build a bypass. Then rent-a-protest move in andcomplain about the great swathes of land being taken up. (Even Motorway interchanges and Junctions are mostly fields)

    Nothing wrong with component, with a good DAC and ADC, and short cable. You'll lose much more quality in the MPEG compression on the DVD.

    Posting a story to slashdot, which of course had a link from my usename to my website, which of course had a link to my mp3s and movies, which of course was accessed by dozens of people, which of course killed my 256k upload.

    Another mistake was typing "apt-get remove libc6", and typing "Yes, I really want to do this".

    I@m currently watching Channel 828, which is N8 Output, and 838, N8 Omnibus. I was watching Chanell 260 earlier, News Quad 2, with Reuters, APTN, AP and EVN on. That's just on the ring main, give me a router dest and I can route about 2000 video signals to my screen!

    500 channels? Piddly.

    Because democrats would eb able to steamroll anything they wanted through. At least having a different president and congress would make it a little harder for either side to remove liberties (when was the last time that the average american got extra liberty from the government? The civil war?). All men have liberty, all governments take that away. The slower the better.

    It would have a big impact, but not in the way you think. Copyright would revert back to whoever originally wrote the code, so an author of some code in the linux kernel could decide to remove it. Microsoft wouldn't be able to embrace and extend though.

    I dont see how the license would fail though.
