I find it interesting that many people who complain about hardware issues seem to have some component that was just released or is a new feature. Most often they have bought something that is brand new and probably isn't ready for prime time.
For instance, in this case, Chris bought a laptop that contained a larger screeen. Dell was probably rushing to release a product with this new screen size, just for the sake of being one of the first to have it.
If you need to rely on something, spend your hard earned money on a platform that has a proven track record. This will give the manufacturer time to work out the kinks and get the support staff up to speed. Otherwise you may be nothing more than a beta tester. Having the biggest IBM Deskstar or Inspiron screen isn't always what it seems.
Well put. Too many people regard college as training for a job or career. Your description of college as a opportunity to improve yourself is much more accurate.
There is actually a better way to do this. Use the Windows 2000 IIS 5.0 Hotfix Checking Tool. It works pretty well and you can customize it to your needs. It can write to the event log, send an email, etc.

Don't you think Sun would have already done this if they thought it truly was a viable alternative? I think the reason they haven't done a publicity blitz is because Sun is fully aware of StarOffice's shortcomings.
I can't be the only one that thought there was a real lack of character development in this film.
Most of the major characters were not fully developed. Many of the other characters, including Thade's right hand gorilla and Kris Kristofferson's I expected to be developed more.
I was suprised that Kristofferson's character was killed off so early. Why even bother having him in the movie?
How many lines did the blonde chick have? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed looking at her rack. But sheesh!
Really Disappointing. The sad part is I will probably go to see the sequel, prequel or whatever they consider it just to see how they explain the Lincoln Memorial thing.
My company, for one, does not pay extra for being "on call". That means anyone can choose to call you at any hour of the day or night. It is what is generally expected. I suspect it is a rather common situation these days.
I've had very good luck with Bell Atlantic/Verizon ADSL. I've had it since October of 1999. Very few complaints. Can't beat the $39.95 price. I was paying $49.95 a month until several months ago and they automatically readjusted the billing to $39.95. The tech support is a little soft but all in all its a good offering
I haven't found that to be true. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and most of the toy stores don't even offer bundles.
Best Buy is selling them unbundled for $300.
It will save you much aggrivation and probably a lot of money as well.
Obviously you aren't familiar with the term "due diligence". You would be a fool not to do research on a potential employer.
How can terrorism be ruled out after less than an hour?
It may well be an accident, but I would assume that the wreckage would need to be thoroughly examined to make any type of final determination.

That's an excellent point. Those drives kick out a lot of heat. That along with an Athlon processor can make your chassis very warm.
Something like this:
WIN-7509 hard drive cooler
or this:
DCD 4002 Cool Drive
may help.

I don't think Microsoft's corporate lawyers would go for that.
please don't feed the trolls
I was in there yesterday. Everything was just the same as it was two weeks ago.

What features of OfficeXP/Exchange 2000 do they want to use that need Active Directory?

What right do you have to complain when you use a service that is free or costs next to nothing?
That mirrors my feelings exactly...
The job is about more than technology
It's an epiphany when you realize that the technology is only part of the job. Many times it't the smallest part of the job.
There was an interesting article on Salon.com the other day about the Telex machine. http://www.salon.com/tech/feature/2000/12/05/telex /index.html
Make your own. It's so easy even an MCSE can do it!

Doesn't Clearcube already have a product similar to this?

...it probably is.
