can you imagine how Incredibly Stupid 'Requium For A Dream" would seem if any scenes with drug use, sex, or violence were skipped?
"Requium for a Dream" is a fantastic movie, and one that I have no interest in letting my 4-year-old watch. I seriously doubt it'll ever be on their "list".
I think the main point of this thing is to cut out the "gratuitous" stuff in otherwise tame movies (face it, cutting out the sex scene in Titanic doesn't significantly damage the "artistic" quality of the film).
I would prefer the directors of the films have control over what gets edited, but they don't have the time or inclination. Besides, this happens to movies for TV broadcast all the time.

I find BeOS runs much better on "modest" PCs.
Yeah, OS's tend to run faster when you're not running any applications.
If I want an application, I just download the tarball, unpack it, customize the makefiles if necessary, and then build the app.
It basically does all those things for you with a single command . . . but better yet, it goes ahead and does all those things with all of the dependencies for your package, too. It's amazingly easy.
For example, once you have a barebones Gentoo system up and running, you can run
emerge kde
and it automatically builds all of the dependencies (including X) and all of KDE in one go. 'Course it takes all night to do so, but what do you expect when you're building from source with your own optimizations.
People have built something like 6500 packages to work this way with Portage; so far almost everything I've needed has been there. Here's the list. You can always install software manually too if you want/need to.
The board of directors doesn't give a floating poo about the tools the company uses for its technology. The CIO? Definitely. The CEO? Perhaps. The board of directors? No way.

Much like subtle humor.
Assholes.
"bottom line"? I believe you mean "PR-fueled fantasy Internet play money". Their bottom line is shit, and has been shit for years.
*ducks*
Interesting indeed . . . thanks for the insight.
Actually, it's both, and they mean different things.
That's about as bad as getting "conservative" and "conservationist" mixed up.
While I doubt this is how they did it, a large weight made from cardboard, starting at a high point, could provide the necessary potential energy.
Don't you mean "emerge"?
Actually, I think he was talking about "urpmi".
That's funny, I could have sworn he said "yum".
If only there was somewhere to plug in that fan . . .
But the loss isn't enough to matter to 95% of listeners. Use good sound hardware, and it's more like 99%.
That, and the fact that the leaders of the two "opposing" groups are the same people.
Looks like thousands of readers actually care about your post enough to do just that . . . APRIL FOOLS!!
What's wrong with that? It's just math, which a spreadsheet is made for . . . maybe not the best tool for the job, but this was academic anyway.

Yeah, Gentoo adding an installer would be like Porsche making an SUV . . . oh wait, right . . .
I have this rock that keeps away tigers . . .
. . . which of course is dying.
Hint: the most obvious outcome isn't always the actual outcome.
Oh, and the marketeers tend to be right? Sorry, but Bill Gates is not known for being a technology visionary.
So in other words, it's a troll.
Naive, bah.
The board room?! You really think people talk about the fucking operating system they use in the board room?
