    You talk as if that's a bad thing. You WANT to make it difficult to run executable attachments.

    No. What you want is to make running attached executables safe and secure. Running in a sandbox could be easy and safe, for instance. The sandbox could prevent access to the network and the local filesystem in the same way as Java's security model

    Making it more complicated doesn't make it any safer, and once the user gets the steps to make an attachment under Linuz memorised it won't slow them down much even.

    And seriously, how is zipping up an exe going to make it safer? - the user is still going to open it and run the contents.

    Why not just build a pass-through box that records the signals going to the monitor and dumps them off as images or MPEG video?

    Unless they start replacing everybody's video card and monitor with new hardware that has encryption included this wouldn't be hard to do.

    Unfortunately, Roomba's music/ sound cannot be modified or disconnected.

    Heh. I reckon a few sharp blows with a sharp implement to the speaker should take care of disconnecting the sound

    If I mass-produced an album called "60 minutes of Silence", and it really contained 60 minutes of silence, I'd be making 'art' but I wouldn't be entertaining. As a matter of fact, I'd probably be up on charges of fraud.

    How? It's quite clearly marked as 60 minutes of silence. If it actually made any noise the purchaser might have reason to complain

    Right. I would argue that since it's in a book you can buy easily over the internet it's not been very succesfully supressed. Perhaps if it was hidden under a rock in a cave in deepest darkest Afrika (with a sign on saying 'beware of the leopard' of course) then maybe it would count as suppressed.

    The CVS repository on cvshome.org was updated on January 15th, well before the exploit was published.
