Sometimes, those that need fish are too busy baking bread to bother with fishing, let alone learning to fish their own fish.
It's called Division of Labor.
When you go to the pharmacy and get your meds, sometimes you like to ask your pharmacist, "what are the side effects of this drug". Somehow I doubt you are expecting the pharmacist to respond with "OMGWTF RU stupid, RTFM U n00b!"
In the mean time, everyone is welcome to come to http://zenapolae.com/ where we have a number of CD releases where we encourage you to rip them to your computer, download them to your iPod, bring them out to the club to DJ with, share them with your friends, play them on your internet radio station, and even create your own derivitive works from them.

We also have FREE downloads every month from our online net label bitphitz. All released under the Creative Commons License.
"Hey you thief, don't you dare be playing my tracks where lots of young impressionable kids will get to listen to them and then afterwards possibly go out to their local DJ shop and buy my records/CDs! Well unless you give me 200 big ones!"
Well not really considering I don't really believe in gods, dieties or other supreme beings, but if I were to believe in one, one that was the omnipotent, omniscient, being that so many religions do believe that their diety exhibits such qualities, that this entire debate would be mute. You see, being a being of such absolute knowledge and power, he could create the universe, from the big bang to the big collapse (ie the alpha and the omega for those of you not in the know), in all it's wonderful and magnificant mathematically precise beauty. In the end, at no point would this "designer" need to interceed it the function of that universe simply because it's design negates the need to interfere. All that was, is, and will be, in this universe, is known by the designer as he is all knowing and in his great wisdom, his universe works as He intended it to, with all it's stars, quarks, quasars, protons, planets, singularies, lions, tigers, vulcans, klingons, and even humans.
So you see, the problem isn't with gods, supreme beings, or intellegent designers, it's with unimaginative humans, who desperately want to belive that their own existance is of ultimate importance. It's rather selfish actually. They live within this wonderful universe, with it's near infinite wonders, yet they remain blinded to it, prefering fantasy to reality. It's unfortunate but true that most people would rather believe in magic then in the actual observable phenomenon. Those of us that know better are just going to have to learn to live with that observable fact and move on with out lives as best we can.
I think the title just about sums it up. It's bad enough I got to read these kind of whinner posts on the damn game forums, do we have to read them as Slashdot "articles" also.
Tommi Kyyrä, of IFPI Finland has said that being able to play music on a Linux or Apple computer is a privilege not a right, and that those that can't because of DRM'd CDs should just go out and buy a CD player.
ROFL...and when I don't bother to buy their PoS CD, will that be my right or my privilege?
At this point in the game, there is so much music available out there from independent artists that I havn't bought anything published by a major cartel in several years. I aquire all my music directly from the artists, independent record lables, or through internet downloads (both free and pay/download and completely legitimately to boot). I also run my own independent record label and host a internet based radio show at live365 which means a lot of artists send their releases to me as promos.
The GP doesn't even know what a mouse is let alone prefer a tree view over icon or column view.;)
To be honest, I rarely use any kind of view on my Windows PC. I launch my apps (read games) from the start menu or a desktop alias...er...shortcut. Most of my documents (there aren't many as I do most of that kind of work on a Mac) are, at most, only one level deep in My Documents. I don't think that in the five years I have had this machine that I have ever once launched Windows Explorer.
You can also use what amounts to the same "tree view" in Mac OS X (any version). There are three options for any window; as icons, as a list (eg tree view), or as columns.
...on the majority of windows apps is piss poor. Most programers wouldn't know how to properly design an interface if you smacked them in the head repeatedly with the design manual. I really wish people would stop making this a mac vs pc issue because it's more about lazy, ignorant programers then the mac vs window pissing contest.
Only if you're a religionist. For a rational person, I don't see the appeal? Science trumps religion. BSG examining religious issues is like if Star Trek examined issues surrounding the Pasteurization of milk. It's anachronistic.
Religion is the ultimate application of the science of social control. How is that not a proper topic for science fiction?
I've been working on my BSCS for 2.5 years now, all online. Sometimes the classes suck from a students perspective and sometimes they are right on. Sometimes it depends on the professor. If you get a professor that is actually interested in what he is doing then it doesnt really matter how he presents to material to you. If he is a slaker then, yes, the course is not going to be as informative as it should be. This is my second degree, my first being a five year pharmacy degree. Is there really a difference? Not really. I remember really bad class experiences in my face to face classes also and those negative experiences seemed to occured with the same frequency. Most importantly, I dont think it really matters how you obtain your material or how the tests are set up, it's whether or not you are motivated to learn the material. I have learned a hell of a lot more with my CS degree then I ever did in pharmacy school. Perhaps it is because I am more motivated and less drunk.;)
"for stock holders" should read "from stock holders". Either I should learn to proof read my shit before hitting the submit button. Sorry for the confusion.
jail time for students swaping mp3 files while Corporate CEOs and other top suits escape the law and get even higher paying jobs for stealing Billions for stock holders. Go figure.

How many times can a quote be quote before people get it through their thick skulls?
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Good old Ben is pointing his finger right at you pal.
Copyright is NOT a right, it's a PRIVILEGE.
I don't think I have much else to say on the matter anymore.
What comes around, goes around...
Welcome to the new world.

I was just trying to be funny. ;)

No, it just doesn't feel right, at all, ever.

How do you Grok that?
I guess eating artificial meat, grown in a vat of protiens and other guey stuff has more of an "ewww gross!" factor the does say mushrooms?

Ah yes, they are protected from being beaten and murdered like they were at the end of the 19th and begining of the 20th centuries. ;)
