  1. Re:Buffy who? on Buffy the Vampire Slayer is Officially Over · · Score: 1

It really sounds like you watched the movie and not the show. Sure there are the occasional wisecracks, like in the game, but most of the truly memorable quotes are a lot more inventive, and funny then that.
The stories are a lot more creative then anything I can think of on TV. Albeit the new episodes aren't nearly as good as the old ones, but that goes for most shows, including "The Sopranos". You would realize this if you actually watched the show, but you would rather just watch a commercial about it, and formulate your opinion, and then troll about it on here

I have to disagree, that owning a hi-performance car, for most people, is a fun and rewarding hobby. There are definetly people who do want to drive, but I would have to say this is in the minority. This is speacking as a car nut, and seeing the way people drive there cars.
How many balding executives have you seen in Corvettes (or whatever) trying to impress the ladies?
That being said, they are nowhere near the penis replacement as SUV's! I hate thos bloated, gas guzzling pos's. Bad Handling, bad for the environment, and unsafe to the other cars on the road (why add all that extra kinetic energy?)

It still lacks the cool cars of Gran Turismo 3, and I found the physics were good (or as good as you would want, and still have the game be enjoyable). I didn't like Project Gotham at all, and NFS:HP2 is best on the PS2 (it's a different version then the rest). I have heard very good things about the new Burnout game.

A good teacher can really make a difference in a kids life. It's nice that there are still some in it for more then a paycheck and 3 months off a year ;)
And I totally agree with the whole standardized test issue, sure they are walking encyclopedias, but that doesn't matter, we need people who can solve problems, and think creatively, and when a teacher is forced to teach towards these tests, the time that shoud be used to develop these skills is wasted. I guess the problem is it's harder to test this then it is to see if they know facts.

Don't worry, I totally got your point. In university we had to do entire processes for toy problems, in software engineering. They were unecessary for the problems that we were doing, but once I started to work on more complex problems the steps really helped.

I guess the problem is as a kid, it just seems like such a waste of time...I know you intentions are good, but I don't know if it gets explained to the students as well as it should. They say they are trying you help you, but as a kid, I often felt like they were just giving me busy work.

BTW, they are TDI engines, not TD. TD means Turbo Diesel, whereas TDI means turbocharged direct injection. For more info on this, you can check out TDIClub

I understand your point, about how you want to see the work, but I did find it troubling in high school. As someone who was quite good at math, I found most of the questions we would get quite trivial, and I could do them in my head. I couldn't really see the point of writing all the steps down.
Fortuneatly my math teacher understood this, and he would give 5/5 if you got the right answer, and0/5 for not having the right answer, if you didn't show work, and part marks if you were wrong, but showed you work. This helped by not penalizing the smart kids, and giving the dumb kids a chance too
