Nope, the reverse is true. "Modern" nuclear energy is too risky, period. Think of another energy alternative -- you don't have the _votes_ to bring back the nuclear industry in America.
Bingo. The Kyoto Treaty is bug a symptom of the same anti-Americanism that's currently wishing for America's destruction while supporting a vicious despot in Iraq.
So maybe now the global warming activist kooks will proceed to go after the Sun's government and leave the US alone. I will help fund the construction of a spaceship to send all these kooks as ambassadors to Sun-land.
There is no evidence that Saddam gassed his own people.
This is the problem with leftists. They won't acknowledge evidence that is widely available and agreed with (basically facts that are in front of their face) in order to madly oppose this just war.
OK. So let's go with the "consistency" of the French. Let's let America be run over, and we'll just drop our weapons and surrender. For this new consistent policy, we'll first need to convert our national petroleum preserve to petroleum jelly.

I don't think the guy is naive at all. In the US, we have a multiplicity of news sources, not all coming from the boob tube. Our wide access to the Internet itself pretty much guarantees that many Americans have a good handle on what's really happening in the world.
And Liberals think Rush-heads are the representative group for "conservativeness." Boy, are they fooled! Rush is an entertainer. But he's appearing increasingly right about something: Liberals make their arguments via name-calling, PC policing and emotional irrationality.
Liberals should take a cue from the likes of Michael Kinsley. He at least tries to make intelligent arguments.
One of the most successful software development firms in history, Borland, was supposed to die multiple times over the past decade. And it's still here, producing incredible development tools.
So tell me... what got you inflicted with the baby-producing disease known as heterosexuality? Were you born that way? Of course not, you decided somewhere along the way that you just simply like the opposite sex. Is my sarcasm showing yet?
If you felt like your sexual choices were natural, then why do you assume (out of ignorance) that gays didn't feel their sexual development was natural as well? Why would anyone choose to be discriminated against???
On the other hand, if you clearly believe you decided to be straight, then embrace freedom and let others make their own choices.
Either way, your tired old thinking is so... twentieth century!
I think people don't report bugs to MS because the support reps are "programmed" to deny real bugs one way or another, so it's not really worth the effort. In my own experience in reporting problems to MS, I've had support reps do one or more of the following:
Play dumb through many discussion iterations, pretending not to understand where the issue lies. I say "pretending" because it's easy to tell that they are twisting the words of my problem description on purpose, when if they simply took my words and test examples at face-value, they would clearly see the issue.
Pushing a workaround on me as if it were a wonderful solution (so perhaps I can go and leave them alone). I'm sorry, but a workaround is usually *not* a solution.
Even if they acknowledge there's an issue, they act as if there's nothing they can do--not even report it internally. Even when it's a super-obvious bug in their product.
It seems to me that the role of the MS support rep is to ensure that bug reporters come to realize the futility of bug reporting, apparently so that MS can keep its stats looking pretty.
I've just decided (from the sick response above) to throw down the gauntlet. I'm tired of seeing my fellow American programmers and our profession being screwed by this unwarranted job exodus. We're SICK AND TIRED of this continual ASS-SCREWING.
Call us any label you like. THIS MEANS WAR. We're taking back OUR jobs.
It's no Gecko when it comes to standards compliance, but it's pretty good in 7.0.
Yup. The standards compliance and rendering issues never seemed to end when I reviewed the final beta for Opera 7. I was so upset I stopped explicitly supporting Opera in my scripts. Opera is now on its own... if it renders correctly on my sites, great, if not, I don't care.
This is the smartest, most accurate "troll" message I've seen in Slashdot.

I'll go with the puddle. :)

So, you're saying no SCUDs were fired at Kuwait, despire all the widely available evidence?
Yes, the reporter got it wrong. Move along now. Nothing to see here. :)

Hmmm... maybe national security is also a reason to bomb? Get a clue!

Denied!
Wasn't MS Bob also lauded in a similar way *before* it was released?

Very sad response. That's all I can say.
It's the fault of the evil corporatists who exploit the citizens of california by providing them with high paying jobs...
Haven't most of those jobs been offshored to India by now?
