-- When we impeach Bush, can we do something about Memphis' "King Willie" please?
Umm... you can't. Remember, while Bush talks to God, King Willie was chosen by God to run Memphis. He said this as he was hard at work on that baby that he refuses to support.
Oh man, I wholeheartedly agree with this. I'm on 6.5, and it is such a fscking piece of crap that I can't wait for sexchange/lookout! The search fscking sucks - I've indexed the mailbox, and it can find nothing sometimes, even when I'm typing in words that I'm looking at!
The only problem with Microsoft is they just have no taste. They have absolutely no taste. And I don't mean that in a small way, I mean that in a big way, in the sense that they don't think of original ideas, and they don't bring much culture into their products.
And redhat could implement it via a "choose your own adventure" DNS game. Imagine it, a choose your own space adventure, implemented in a virtual space!
Two things. One - peanut allergies kill. If you have peanut allergies, you can die from it, from just a touch or breathing the tiny particles in the air from a cough or sneeze. Does it make sense to ban peanut butter sandwiches if you have someone allergic to peanuts? Since I have a daughter with severe peanut allergies, I do think so, since I prefer not to have her die a painful death.
Second thing - go read the first post. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO MAKE THE WEBSITE EASIER TO USE FOR THE BLINDJust stop using those damned javacrap shit unnecessarily. Why should links be javascripted?! Why shouldn't alt tags be filled out? This has been a standard recommendation since the days of mosaic. Just because you're damned lazy doesn't make it right.
A BETA should be feature complete, and is only there for you to find the final bugs. A beta is not for you test new things. Unless you're a Microsoft customer.
Typically people find me very helpful. My last place keeps calling me up for help, and I would point them in the right direction and have been helping people out with recommendations and pointers to information, being a reference for folks who want it.
However, if there was one asshole who was hated by everyone in the IT department. He always spoke as if he knew everything, and he is always the authoritative source, and everything he does is always correct. For a so-called CCNP, he could not even set what amounted to defaultroute on a cisco switch. He set up a pair of 6509 with the root going to a 2924 under his desk.
He had a pair of redundant 10mb lines. Order a 100mb line. Left it sitting there for 6 months. When we were doing the work from home project, I said, lets used that. The fucker immediately said there's a high priority CIO project that needed the 100mb line, and then went ahead and broke the redundant 10mb line, gave one 10mb to me. The other 10mb was supposed to be BGPed with the 100mb line. Unfortunately, he didn't know how BGP works, so it was another 4 months before it came online.
He is an asshole, an idiot of the first degree. And I will call him an asshole.
If I call you an idiot, you can be pretty sure you're an idiot.
And yes, I'm talking about you, Mr. Notwork engineer who designed a 10/8 notwork for a company of 3000. Who claims to have a CCNP but unfortunately can't show any certificates because "Cisco lost my certification results". Who only kept his job because... well, we have no idea why the CIO kept him around, but it is widely suspected that he had photos. I personally saw the CIO take him aside one time, after the CIO made a decision against Mr. Notwork engineer's wishes, and apologize to him, saying that it was not personal, blah blah blah.
Why in hell do you think Microsoft went to the expense of trying to get OOXML approved? Because it is now a checkbox they can tick off. It is "an open standard".
Something insanely witty and funny that makes everyone think I'm smart.
No, what you just wrote does not make you seem witty, funny or smart. People are seriously concerned about OOXML, and someone here just takes potty shots? If you don't know what the issues are about, go find out before shooting off your keyboard.
That's why every single engineer should be killed! This is to prevent terrorism from spreading.
After that, we should go for biologists, we should never let god hating heathens live! Why, we may even make an exception for them, and help them abort any babies they have, just in case their babies grow up to be god hating heathens as well!
Hey, you should share what ever the heck it is that you are smoking.
Or are you one of those babies who forgot that a world once existed where there were no CDs, and only tapes, and those tapes *STILL FSCKING COST $9.99* and you can take your discount and shove it. It's called a premium, because you can afford it.
Who says organized crime only has illegitimate businesses? How do you think they launder their money? Even basic economic text books talk about those cash only pizza parlours.
You do realize that one of the arguments about moving to CD is that it cost them pennies, where a tape costs them about a buck or two, so, in the long run, they can lower the price of CDs. Yet, we see it going up.

This is /., innit? Isn't that by definition?

I blame Microsoft.

Main thing? The OS is used to sell the hardware.
Second thing? Support issues. Now they are going to have to field support calls for non-Apple supported hardware.
Selfish. So, you grab up all the available connections and bandwidth because you JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT RIGHT NOW, and HELL WITH THE OTHER USERS, right?
Why in hell do you think Microsoft went to the expense of trying to get OOXML approved? Because it is now a checkbox they can tick off. It is "an open standard".
Your HO does not reflect reality.

Please explain why a soundtrack to a movie is still $15.99.
And somehow, you forget the Alt key. Funny person.
I've always thought that if one is good, two is better.
Who says organized crime only has illegitimate businesses? How do you think they launder their money? Even basic economic text books talk about those cash only pizza parlours.

Care to explain that, troll?
And the difference is _you_ did not set it up not to hand out IP addresses to strangers.
You are being silly.
Your laptop says "can I connect? Please give me an IP address."
Your router says "please do. Here is an IP address, and if you want to talk to anyone I don't know about, here is the gateway address as well"
If your dog can talk, you wouldn't have to worry about Internet access.
Since when is forking a bad thing? You seem to forget the current gcc is based off a fork of the original gcc, egcs. Here, read some: http://www.softpanorama.org/People/Stallman/history_of_gcc_development.shtml
Additionally, everyone is picking up webkit, Nokia, etc. Hell, even the KDE folks are picking up webkit!!!
And they just picked up cups.
Why do people who have no idea what they are talking about continue to make noise?
Having used windows, I wouldn't characterize the taste as "kool-aid"...
Did your doctor bounce you when you were born? The issue here is not whether copyright infringement is legal or illegal.
The issue here is that the methods RIAA USED IS ILLEGAL.
Bah. Morons. Actually, since you're an anonymous coward, a better word is probably shrill.
Actually, if *YOU* RTFA, you'll find that the sequence thing was for a royal flush.
And I thought I had it rough, what with English being my 4th language and all.
