Now, there are reasonable Android users, and there are some uses that Androids are fantastic at. But every time I see a mention about using iPads, all the fandroids swarm the discussion saying why Android tablets are cheaper and just as good and so on and so forth.

It's almost like they live in a self contained bubble ignoring all other factors.

So, when you buy a computer, you don't buy software? Support? Etc? Oh, I forgot, fandroids write their own software. How could i have forgotten that. Every kid should be writing their own software stack.

Can you pull your head out of your ass for a moment, and look at it clearly? Just like the pilots were not issued iPads as a computing device but as a way to manage and replace 40 lbs of FAA required manuals, this is the same. The kids are given a device that has their books (which are effing expensive) and tests on them, and a way to centrally managed them.

What the hell are they going to do with a 2 year old samsung chromebook (as suggested by others in the original thread)? Nothing. People don't buy a device just to have it do nothing. They buy it for the ability to run software they need. Right now, Androids still don't have the software they need. It's as simple as that.

Now watch me get modded down by all the fandroids.
