I'm w/you. What a stoopid question. The cure isn't mandatory.
Being R/G color blind got me booted out of electronics in the Navy and it has kept me from a commercial flying career. If there were therapy, I would take it.
I don't mind being color blind, but I don't like being excluded because of it.
Note to FAA: I have the best night vision of anybody I know, and I fly after dark w/confidence. So there.
That's right. I'm not sure this is even a problem. So you can see the video. BFD. You know, the fun really begins when we start broadcasting bogus video. Much cheaper than launching real platform and just as fun.
I worked on a UAV system in the mid 80's and we didn't encrypt anything (everybody remain calm:that was then, this is now). I did the entire RF system using off the shelf packet radio systems at 1200 baud. Encryption adds overhead and we were just a POC demo.
I'll see you, tin can man and raise you a few hashmarks.
This isn't treason, someone needs to lay off Fox and caffeine.
Not everything is a combat system. And not every day at sea is filled w/tense drama. Actually, I could tell you everything of interest over the span of a six pack. The rest... well... tedium until discharged.
The shipboard environment is more like a medium industrial setting (varies of course, a lot of difference between CIC and engineering).
Mother Navy pays $$$ for stuff to spec, she should get full value. I'm glad to see NSSC is actually doing something about this.
Agreed. I am hoping that w/the recent advertising push by Verizon (et al) that Android will be less of a geek fashion accessory and more of a viable market.
However, for now... I am converting my Android apps to support AdMob advertising. Soon they will be "free" - hope the android community enjoys it.
I started w/the idea that I would port all my iPhone apps to Android. Now that I have seen the response... well... it isn't quite the priority it used to be.
I can personally assure you on a first hand basis that WFB does not hire computer people based on sex appeal. If anything, there is a inverse correlation because most of those people are ugly enough to be R. Crumb drawings.
I didn't say they were any more competent (although there used to be some quite reasonable people at WFB).
Apologies to any of my former coworkers, but I defy you to provide a counter example.
Next time you say "nut case" - have a look in the mirror.
You are an example why old pharts are mocked and why amateur radio is considered the province of out of touch geezers far out of touch w/current technology.
BTW, I've also been licensed since I was 12 and held my extra since 1982, along w/commercial phone and telegraph.
But I know the difference between ELF and the POTUS.
Oh, ya. It absolutely was operator error. Completely agree.
If there had been a flight crew aboard, someone might have noticed the engines were shut down and someone might have been able to negotiate an emergency landing.
However, since this was a UAV the operator didn't notice the engine had shut down and of course once below the radio horizon there wasn't any chance of a emergency landing.
I'll skip the transponder going dark so ATC didn't know to move traffic away. The NTSB report does a great job by itself.
Because that would be slow. And awful.
You go ahead, mine will remain intact.
Bwahahaha!! If I had mod points, you would certainly get some. Funniest post of the day.
I have worked as a DoD contractor and I am a vet. I agree it is sad, but failure on these projects is the routine outcome.
Navigating the federal procurement process is a nightmare you have to experience to believe.
Those infamous $300 hammers are a bargain: at least they got delivered and performed the task.
They could easily write a message to the Notification Manager about a suspect app.
I live near Cottonwood, and I never suspected they taught anything beyond logging, ranching and truck driving.
Great job, kids. I really have to reconsider Tehama County schools.
Wow.
Thanks for contributing. I hear from a Google recruiter once or twice a year, but I have never gone for the interview.
I have heard remarks similar to yours and I already know Google would not work for me.
I am happy they have a nice playground, but it isn't for everybody.
TFA is wrong. I have a Hero which exhibits the same behavior (i.e. writes thumbnails to the micro SD)

Haha... Truth. I love reading the KCNA web site. Especially since the enquirer went under. I keep waiting for Dear Leader to capture Bat Boy.
This is much like Steve Jobs. I predict that one day his publicist will claim that Jobs coded from the womb.
Our Glorious Leader Steve Jobs. Not bad but not quite the same ring.
ding, ding, ding!! a winner! You had me by "Fairchild"
I personally feel the end came when St. James Infirmary burned down.
And you are so right about mobile. I just spent a year on mobile and I'm going back to enterprise. The money is better and the hype tolerable.
CS was good for me, but I wouldn't encourage anybody to follow, SV or anywhere.
Really? There is a jet version of the EP-3? Owned by the Navy? That can outrun jet interceptors?
Why don't those VQ people simply drive this magic carpet every day rather than risk yet another confrontation?
Ya, bad for small airplanes too. It is harsh enough to fly through AZ on a normal summer afternoon.

Ya, I don't understand the conclusion either.
I have nothing to do w/health care, but bar codes alone should have been a big help.
I have been contracting since 1992, and one of the reasons I started contracting was unpaid overtime.
If someone calls me, I go on the clock. Nobody should be surprised to get an invoice.
If the job is worth doing, it is worth paying for.
The person in TFA is not acting like a contractor, the employer is risking bad things(tm) should they ever be audited.

I don't want to put you all to sleep w/the usual old fart stuff about steam powered computers and blinky lights, etc.
Back in the day, it was cool, fun, had some prestige and even attracted women on occasion.
The PC was the first step to commodity status and the internet absolutely sealed our fate.
I would never recommend a career in IT to anybody I actually liked.
I (used to) routinely contract for WFB.

Obama has nothing to do w/this.

Although I generally agree w/your points I have to point out some flaws w/item 3.
You can purchase an aircraft without a license, corporations do this all the time.
I'm not sure $50K gets you much of a helicopter, certainly not much of an airworthy helicopter.

I wouldn't even consider building a fresh data center here, just because of earthquakes alone.
Move to Sacto or something.
