I can speak for NameCheap's technical support. They are quick and helpful. I only have certificates with them, but it's an ever-growing number :)

I have a reseller account with some other company for domains, which is tens of cents cheaper per domain (special offers not included). The only difference between going through NameCheap and reseller accounts is that the latter normally requires a little deposit. If they need no deposit, they're usually slightly more expensive. For just a few domains I'd go with NameCheap. If you hoard domains reseller accounts are for you.

I think banks were even earlier. They started making metal/paper tokens with different values on them, and eventually evolved into an elaborate system handled by the governments around the world. The money on my Visa debit account feels pretty virtual too.

Erica Sadun's book is full of hackery and use of private APIs. I can't recommend it. Any book but that if you actually want to get things on the AppStore, or even if you care about good programming practices.

I see people finding uses for tablet computers, and it looks like e-readers are turning into tablet PCs. Read books, play music and even install custom software? Yep, it's beyond a mere e-book reader at that point. Larger screens and somewhat usable on-screen keyboards make them usable for note-taking on the go. I know of at least a handful of journalists (they are small people - many fit in one hand) who love the iPad because it's so much easier to pull out and start taking notes on.

I'm not terribly interested in one for just plain use, but once I get an iPad or something like it, I'll find ways to make it useful. I would also be unable to resist developing stuff for it (already just mucking about with never-released tools and toys for iOS).

See BSA abuse - rat on your ex-employer when fired and they're in a world of hurt whether their software is legal or not.

The support staff MS use for their Live service (and probably other divisions) are mindless automatons. They read from a script, and whenever they stray from it something stupid happens. Just hope you never have to call them for any reason at all, as they'll most likely only make matters worse.
