I'm hoping for Evil Curiosity which has a goatee and has been sent by a world mirroring our world in almost every way. Except they're all evil. Although somewhere on that planet will be a mirror version of me.. but.. er.. without a goatee?
So who gets the money? Every single customer who got the spam? The three people who actually sued them? Why should they get "my share" of the money when all the damages weren't done to them?
Rendering technology is waiting for the next generation of consoles. Devs are scared of doing pc-exclusive "super-graphics" because it will be PC-only and that market is mired in doubt of piracy and confusing sales numbers thanks to the myriad of digital options which aren't listed in the regular sales numbers.
Nothing radical will happen in the near-future apart from input methods such as Oculus Rift.
High friction surface which requires constant work and they want to paint it in temperature sensitive markings which will get covered in sot and worn down in a heartbeat? Prolonging any and all road maintenance.
Why not just have a sign painted in the same material which does the same job, except you can actually see it a lot easier?
I do like the idea of glow in the dark roads for increased visibility, but not for reading the temperature.
This is true in some cases, but it's not always the best way. Look at Prohibition, it was repealed after large groups of people created organizations that publicly protested the law and eventually they were convinced that there was a better way to deal with alcohol (including taxation).
Look at the war on drugs in America. Are all those people in jail serving a purpose for deliberately disobeying the law? Has anything changed since it started?
I'm not saying you're wrong, I just wonder if there are better ways than trying to run an underground law-breaking revolution that nobody knows about.
If the government has declared something illegal you just can't use "But sir, I don't agree with said law" and walk away from the crime without any consequences.
Is the government wrong? Probably, but you should focus on changing the government to change the laws rather than just breaking the law and hoping for the best.
Unless that was the original intention? And then to study what happens after that. Maybe they're researching the effect of a simulation becoming aware of it's own simulation?
Maybe they'll change the rules when it happens? Maybe there will be no more hunger parameters, maybe there will be no more boobs. Who knows?
That's what science is for, asking questions: Even if they are incredibly far fetched and borderline scamming for funds.
Personally I can think of dozens of better fields to spend time and money on, but that's the beauty of the human mind. Some people will dig around in places you think are absurd and if they DO find something you might benefit from it.
For the sake of further experiences with the font, here is mine: I'm normally a self-proclaimed fast and proficient reader and reading this font is no different. No harder and no easier. So it does seem to have very individual and seemingly only beneficial results which is very cool.
That's very neat and all, but a little too much fake production values for my tastes. Curiosity does not have a microphone so the sounds are fake and the video is clearly not natively 30fps.
It was meant ironically, but I guess I didn't phrase it well enough. I hoped that using the negative word "spy" would get the message across that I wasn't in favor of the situation.
What I meant was that you can still do anything you want, but you are going to get caught.
That reply makes me wish I had mod points on Dotslash so I could give you a +1 Devious

Not to mention millions of creative non pot smokers nationwide.
Not magical glow in the dark ones that can also display other information.

That's you think Mr Alfred Bester. Earth Alliance Psi Corps. Psi Cops division, Level 12 Investigations. Licensed rating P12.
Oh... wait...

In terms of actual gains? None. But you don't gain being right or lawful. Nor do you change the viewpoint of legal system.
That's not how LAWS work.

No no no.
Implications: Apple should SUE Austria.
But that's exactly my point, we can't assume anything.

Unfortunately 3D printers will probably have DRM against printing printers that don't contain the DRM.
Although maybe if you print a printer that can print non drm printers to print a printer that can print printers (or guns)?
Suck it woodchucks.
I like this.
But I don't have any mod points.
So I'm just going to leave this oddly meta post about liking what you just said.
Spaceship powered by a constant stream of exploding nuclear bombs? I'd love to watch that liftoff. From underneath a wooden desk.
What do you think the children were soldering?
Is that it?
That is immensely interesting. (No sarcasm)

Well, yeah. Real life shows us that when they don't follow standards and we get waste. And that's what happens. Over and over.
I hardly doubt Apple not following any known standard is a protest against the diversity of standards in contemporary technology.
So if everyone actually DID follow standards things would be less wasteful. That's all I'm saying.
I know of a magical way that can REDUCE it. Standards.
According to Curiosity itself https://twitter.com/MarsCuriosity/status/232524619528167425 there's no microphone. So those sounds were either recorded during some other project or made in a studio somewhere specifically for that video.
That's very neat and all, but a little too much fake production values for my tastes. Curiosity does not have a microphone so the sounds are fake and the video is clearly not natively 30fps.
Again, very neat.

But nevermind!
