Could you please point to a source? I just bought an album through the web app and it doesn't actually play the songs in the browser. After you purchase the album, there is a link to the Amazon Cloud Player, which is an native app -- which works great!
I completely agree! There should be enough time for art, computer programming, and a lot of other creative and engaging activities at school. The kids who have aptitude learn to read and write by the 3rd grade. The problem is that we, as a nation, are so focused on not leaving any child behind and are therefore pouring a lot of resources into remedition instead of enrichment. The above average kids are bored to death and quickly become apathetic towards school.
I think this is wonderful. I'm very disheartened by the direction of the educational system in the United States. It seems that we have become a nation obsessed with standardized testing due to the No Child Left Behind Legislation (NCLB). At least at our school, all we care about is doing well on the state test because our school is graded and penalized based on the scores. It is very sad as art programs, Tech Ed, and project based learning is out the door because we have to drill and kill our kids so we can improve on the state test. It's not the teachers' or the administrators' fault. It's the laws that have been put in place by clueless Legislators. It's very sad that creativity has been trumped by root memorization, thoughtless learning!
And Windows 8 licenses are NOT Windows RT licenses! This confusion between the two different operation systems is really going to bite MS at some point!
Are you tapping on the screen because you keep losing the curser? If you shake the monitor the curser will center itself at 0,0. Try it -- shake it, but don't stir it:)
Also, I am able to play my Steam games on my Mac or PC, and I suspect that when Steam for Linux comes out, I will also be able to play my current games on my Linux box too! So Steam is very generous and the prices great compared to console games.
All you have to do is convince the male congressional leaders that they will gain manhood size once we convert over to metric! 15 is a whole lot bigger than 6:)
I know you were joking, but IE remains the only major browser that runs on one platform only. I'm sure Microsoft will port it to other platforms someday!
I can feel it in my bones, this is the year of FreeBSD! I"ve always had a soft-spot in my heart for BSD of any flavor. Fond memories of running NetBSD on my Mac LCIII are coming back!
A whole new market of simpler word-processing apps has sprung up to cater to writers' needs. Many writers now use programs like Scrivener to write their novels.
Will someone one please clarify for me if we will always be able to buy computers without a securebootloader, or will I have to deal with this shit sometime down the road. Thanks!
It's going to confuse consumers like Windows 8 RT tablets are doing now. Most consumers think that Windows RT tablets will run desktop Windows software and people will think that XBOX 360 TV RT will play XBOX games. Just saying!
I"m expecting a couple hundred dollars difference. It really two completely different products. Why did MS decide to muddle the waters, I haven't a clue!
Exactly! Not to mention how many times of heard people on slashdot saying how they can't wait to get a tablet that runs "real applications." The first tablets coming to market are RT models, which will not run desktop software, but the x86 models will when they come out. By that time, people who bought a table wanting to run desktop apps, will be frustrated enough not to look at the new tablets. I'm sure they will be priced at nearly the same price point as ultra books, which will deter many buyers.

We all make mistakes -- the trick is not to make the same one twice!
Thanks :) My lack of Proofreading often bites me!
That's funny!

$200? The average selling price is $799. Yeah, you can get it at AT and T for 100 dollars less with a two year contract! They are not cheap!

The article specifically mentions printing on different media like metal, paper, wood, clothes and such. So maybe they are on to something!

Does anyone know if there is an Android comparability layer?
Dude, stop trolling. It's Microsoft that's collection money on every Android/ Linux phone sold!

True. There is a good chance that it might not be approved if MS wants to push it's media player to drive music and movie sales. We shall see!
This is for the Metro version which will work on RT, Windows phone and Windows x86
