The current day palastinians are arabs. The philistines mentioned in the bible were not. The current day palastinians have no better claim than any other group in the world. They never controlled that land as a single nation. Since the fall of the 2nd Jewish Temple, that land was either directly controlled by the Romans, Turks(Ottomans) or Britain. Never has that land been under control of an Arab government. The Arabs control 99% of the Middle East land mass. Why do the palastinians (which are arabs) have a right to the last 1%?

Two, Intel doesn't need Itanium to beat Sparc, cpu-wise. A P3 1 GHz beats most of the Ultra-Sparc II line, and the P4 series beats the Utlra-Sparc III, including the 900 MHz model. And all this is on FPU-intensive code, like SDRC I-DEAS and custom CAE software.

To reply to another poster in this thread, the P4 at 1.5GH is roughly 12% faster than a 1GH P3 on non-P4 optimized code. I don't recall the difference that properly optimized code makes, but it isn't all that much. This information comes from the Ford annual workstation benchmark, btw.

Without the use of a descrambler, legal or otherwise, you do not have the content. Since you have not paid for a copy of the content (in the illegal case), you have no right to obtain it. In the case of dvd's, you own a physical copy of the content (as physical as one can get in this situation). Therefore, one has a right to use whatever means necessary (within reason) to view it. Think of the deCSS case as if book publishers attempted to control the lighting conditions that one could use to be able to see the contents.

That definition, obtained from www.m-w.com seems to describe the purpose of the SurfWatch software pretty well. I have the same problem with my voodoo2 when UT freezes. The easiest way (for me) to fix this is simply to restart UT. Either telnet in from another box and start it, or switch VTs (it is switching, even though you can't see it) and start it. The problem is that when it crashes, UT doesn't reset the voodoo2 to accept signals from the passthrough cable. The other option is to plug your monitor into your 2d card instead of the voodoo2.

A PC with a decent high-end card (Like a Wildcat or HP's FX6) can get into the ballpark of an HP C3000, but there's no way a GeForce could do the same.
