What about it? This is a tainted copy of Xcode that can't be doing anything more than including some malware classes in binaries. Probably uses the ObjC +load method to kickstart itself when the app starts. There's no way for the tainted code to have a clue as to what the app does, and thus no way to "add another email address" or "redirect bank transfers".

That's only true on Android, and only until Marshmallow. On iOS, if the app refuses to work without permissions, the app will be rejected (if Apple catches it). I suspect that Apple would similarly reject updates if customers complain about the app. And if Apple does allow the app through, customers will reject it when they find out it requires permissions it doesn't need for its primary functionality. No one would expect a video chat app to work w/o video and mic, for example.

That's OK. Apple doesn't have any use for a person so stupid they can't manage iTunes. They probably don't care much for douches who consider manually managing the music on their phone to be the primary feature of said phone. Apple tends to value people who want to do stuff.

You're not Apple's key demographic because they don't actually value idiots. Apple wouldn't release OS updates for 5 year old devices if they viewed (or wanted you to view) those devices as disposable. The last Macbook that I owned was used for 7 years before being given away to someone who needed a better laptop than what they had. It's still in use today.

They also encourage usage of iCloud for all those media, and they added a streaming service. Clearly Apple understands that 16GB is not always enough, but for many users 64GB might be overkill, and they don't want to spend the money.

At the end of the day, Apple offers a product. Take it or leave it; that's the Apple Way. It makes a lot of money for Apple, so it really doesn't make any sense to claim they are objectively wrong in some way. There's no requirement for them to cater to some tiny percentage of people who claim Apple is leaving money on the table. They don't need it.

There is no particular reason to assume that those with 16GB iPhones purposefully keep a lot of space free (your estimate of 12GB usable is very close) just because. Given that 16GB is the low-end of modern iPhones (going back to at least the 6), it seems odd that the median would be 7GB if people felt 16GB was a constraint. Of course, I don't know the source for that number, so if it includes 8GB models, it would make more sense.
