    As far as I know he was opposed to refusal by Feds for paying costs of desegregation. He simply requested additional funds to be provided and when his request was denied he refused to support legislation.

    If one can be accused of racism simply because he was invited to B.J.U, what are you going to accuse of thousands of people who actually graduated from that school?

    He was right.
    I am not from the south. In fact I wasn't born in US but even I know that great majority of people who fought against federal armies did not own slaves and gave their lives fighting for independence.

    Over last 3 years I have run 3 different AMDs on my development machine ( sometimes involved in very heavy compiling for hours ) and had no problem at all.
    Most recent 1 GZ Thunderbird is working perfectly (I had it for a month or so)
    I have heard about problems with chipsets but I have never seen or experienced one ...

    Frankly, I don't see how Linux is innovative or even particulary robust.
    I mean it is another Unix clone and not the best at that ( Solaris is much more stable and scalable at this point.)

    What we taking here is pardon to people who commited illegal acts trying to carry ot actions which they thought would be beneficial to this country. This is the kind of stuff presidential pardons were invented for ...
    On the other hand we have Clinton, issuing pardons to common criminals with money in what looks like was a biddin process ...
    As always, new moral "standards" introduced by Clinton family into US politics.

    Well, if you want to go that far then there are other issues with Florida as well, like convicts illegaly allowed to vote for Democratic party ..
    Tons of illegal emigrants voting for you know who.

    Mischief in Florida was "invited" by Gore who , as a first president ever went on a month long challenge to the entire voting system for what turned out to be NOTHING ( recent recounts by press)
    Shame on this guy.

    No. Because in real world all current commercial apps require at least pentium class cpu.
    Much better approach than what Red Hat does; compiling to the lowest common denominator, i386 ( and therefore punishing great majority of people with better hardware just to keep niche (386) market happy)
    Do you really expect me to recompile 300+ rpms that come with standard RH installation ?

    The difference between somebody compiling app on their custom system and installing binary as far as optimizations are concerned, is nonexistant.
    Specially on proprietary system where most users have the same version of sys dlls and other system components.

    OS,X windows ,KDE and GNOME are all part of core OS or system libraries on Windows boxes.
    Compilers, editors and languages are for geeks and hold no value for general users.
    Multimedia aps and games are mostly of such quality that I would rather use standard Windows player which supports more formats anyway ...
