if the device that intercepts it is between the keyboard and the computer, then a keyboard that sends encrypted text will still get read--of course they will not have your password, but they will just have to replay the data collected when you typed in your password!--as others have said, if they have physical access, just forget it, they have it--if nothing else, an over the shoulder camera!(remember Sneakers!)
;-}
First of all, what?--that is a very hard to read sentence!;)
Second, if you are buying volume, you don't buy the box, you buy media for 10$, 20$, whatever it costs these days, as many copies as makes you feel good about yourself, then you buy licenses seperatly--they are just a little piece of paper that looks a little like a diploma, you store them and are done with that! If I remember right it costs less to buy it that way (it was like 60$-70$ a few years back for NT 4.0, as opposed to 250$, I think), not to mention it is MUCH easier to keep track of! Oh, and yes that is for upgrades, but you all your machines came with some version of Win on it right?--then all you need is an upgrade! How much trouble is it to file the cover off the manual that came with system, plus any subsequent upgrades in a little filing cabinet?! One of those for every computer, a seperate drawer for the servers, and you are legal! if they don't think you are, let them come count it all up, that's their problem--if you are legal, then is not a problem.
I think that if you run such a big shop, you might want to think about hireing me, I think I might save you a bit of money!
;-}
well, if you get a PS2 try and make sure that all actions are taken in a clean room, and the disk is new, otherwise it might be a bit hard to play
(damn I hate it when I rent a movie and can't play it on my PS2!)
my girl friend works for a cell phone company, as tech support. last night she was tellin me how the tech at work showed her how to click on a period here a letter there, and you were put into the tracking sstem that showed you( on a map!) where a call was coming from, where the nearby towers were, etc
actually, unless I am being usually dense, it's not august yet, and thus linux itself is not 10 years old, thus he did not learn linux 10 years ago, if he is 36, and was 26 at the time. Of course, that is just being picky, and I am sure that he meant 9.5, or whatever. Also,this does give rise to the idea that it is time to start the 10 year celebration planning--someone send me a ticket!
actually, my mother heads the Science dept at my old high school, and her budget is several thousand dollars, and she is the one who makes the decisions on what to buy--and remember, you only need one classroom set--remember sharing?
The biggest factor she usually has in mind when I give her advice on what to buy is how easy it is to use, and do they have something that does that already?
She bought a set of sensor that worked with TI-85(which almost every kid in that shool ha), why would she buy a new set that works with a palm, that few kids in high school have?
Man, everytime you post you must get at least half a dozen restraunt suggestions--I wish I lived somewhere close, so I could at least try a few, instead of just asking my girlfriend if she ever heard of them!
or similar, such as iopener, etc
cheap(less than 200$), color, fairly small, x86 computer--strip it to screen and motherboard, and should be easily mountable, has uh...40meg? of DOC, etc.
contact boundless or the webplayer coop for more info -- mine is on it's way to me at them moment, from the coop.
the screen is probably a bit large, but you could use it to display several instruments, screen of part of it, etc.
yeah, that's the link I found, right AFTER I had preordered the book..that's ok, though, as I am in the middle of reading it again (just got to the second semester, in which things stop making sense)
being from texas, I have to say that we were an independant country, and have almost as long of a history as a country as the US--not that it makes any differences to you argument, but during the texas revolution, that is exactlly what happened, and at the least people came from america to help the indepemdant nation of texas (that whole thing a bout remember the alamo, etc, )
;-}
as far as I know, they moved most of their stuff out of lubbock--they are in dallas now, I think--the buildings that they used to be in is now (partly) a southwestern bell tech support call center.
we are to assume it's from your hacking days then, perhaps password lists, or ill gotten software?
wait--are you Kevin?--you can't get near a computer, what good does a floppy do you!
Oh, and for easier access, next time try behind a condom machine, in a bathroom somewhere!
And that is how people decide to become doctors...but then they realize that the doctor does not get all that money. Have you ever looked at the facility you are sitting in when you are at the Dr. office? It tends to cost quite a bit of money. Now what about all those nurses, and secretaries, etc. they cost too, not to mention equipment supllies etc. Anyway. A Doctor with a private practise can take home as much as a million a year, but that is rare. The Doctor's I knew(working at a medical school) made between about 100,000 and 250,000 dollars. and that is after their residency. During residency, they made about 30 thousand dollars, and were paying medical school bills, which generally were into the 100's of thousands of dollars.
In other words a tech worker is out of school at say 22, and making around 35,000-40,000 to start-by the time they are 30 they are making as much as 100,000-150,000, if they are lucky, and making more all the time, wheras a doctor at the same age is just starting out, and still has school bills to pay!
Of course all the Doctor's i knew were perfectly willing to live like they made 4X as much as they actually did, and were constantly in debt.
;-}
just curious--by northern texas do you mean lubbock?--I have read several things about a particular flight school here--supposed to be great--and I am looking for confirmation, before I sign up!!!
;-}
to tell the truth it looked like the same code over and over again to me--well, I remember seeing
something=buff();
something=buff();
something=buff();
over and over again, anyway
note:--the Net, w/sandra bullock is the worst recent movie about computers that I can think of---Hackers is just cheesy, not bad--take out the silly computer graphics, switch out gibson for cray, etc, and it's not that far off. Oh, wait hackers don't go to neat clubs, and there are no pretty girl hackers, you say. well, there are some, and some do.
Sorry, too many people are bashing one of my favorite movies(that soundtrack!)--had too defend it!
yes, I think I may just possibly know who you are talking about!---uh....crap, can't think of the guys name, was a friend of my boss, Doug Faul, they used to be teachers together!!!--that may have been after you time though...I think he came on in the summer of 98...got your old job or something!
I was there from feb/97 to about feb/99, as an admin for the anesthesiology dept.---a fun job!
;-}
nope, I got one too, although it seems like no one else in this town does!(lubbock, tx, by the way--if you have one, let me know--I want to play someone AC2 linked!)
I believe that when the poster previous to you said program they made a mistake--of course you can name a specific program!--what I believe was meant was functionality, all of which there are linux compatible programs that have similar features to the ones you named(except possibly the audio stuff--not my area, no knowledge)--and at least one program that you mentioned does run in linux!--that being excel!
hey there's nothing wrong with a polaroid!--it's quality is not nearly as bad as many make it out to be, and is significantly better than most of the digital camera's out there!
just had to say this--just cause it's kodak paper, does not make it a photo(in the normal sense of an image projected onto a paper that reacts chemically to the light)--it is still a print out!
--oh and one other rant!!;-)
kodak does not always make the best paper--they just have the best marketing!!--you don't believe the marketing about your OS, why about your paper!
(the above is not meant as an attack on any one person, but on things that I hear people say all the time that always annoy me!)
http://photonlight.com
I carry around three of these in my pocket--blue, white, and red, and have for a few years now...these things are great...and a lot of these other places are getting the stuff from these guys, so buy from the source!

just turn the phone ringer off, and play a ringing sound of your choice!
that is what I am working on in my system, anyway!
