Ya, i rolled a baracuda out in a similar environment back in 04, and the users couldn't stop singing the praises compared to the filtering our mx offered + my manual filtering. I strongly recommend baracuda for this size roll-out.
Ya, netsol saw it as a way to make sure people who were using their whois servers actually registered through them, instead of godaddy, etc. They never actually KEPT any of the domains they reserved for themselves (dumbly).
Sure, they're blocking traffic to that specific tracker, but that doesn't really fix the "issue". Torrent trackers are like hydras, cut off one, and two will grow back in its place. Focusing on TPB will not end piracy via torrents, just as shutting down the original nova didn't over a year ago, and all the other trackers that have been closed down in between.
I've helped over 2 dozen people find wiis since launch (i got mine at midnight, so I was good), and I'll tell you all the same thing I've told them:
Check the weekly ads for Target and Best Buy on their respective websites on Saturday night/Sunday Morning. If there's a Wii in the Best Buy ad, go there immediately (sunday morning), they'll be there (ask if they're not on shelves, they may have not been stocked yet). If it's in the target ad, go to the store and ask the person working in electronics when they usually get their shipments in (day of the week). You should be good to get one if you get there before 10am that day.
Only 1 Nintendo title, and it wasn't for the wii (I'm not counting madden, as it's coming out for EVERYTHING). Not sure how to take that, as the new mario galaxy stuff looks really good, as does smash brothers, and wiifit looks fairly intriguing.
but not officially. Companies like m3 and Flashloader make devices that plug in to the gba slot on the ds, fit flush, and either have a set amount of onboard flash, or have a slot for an SD card (regular for the original ds, mini or micro for the lite). You can run homebrew applications off of these, as well as listen to music (with the winamp equiv. in moonshell), and play emulated games (though some snes games won't run full speed due to the fx chip issue).
Now, this doesn't simplify the friends code issue, and it's definitely border line illegal, but it does exist.
Interesting...looked up one of my domains, said $11k-$14k, refreshed, same domain, $1400-$2400. Seems the word relevance disappears randomly. Definitely not accurate, but I about crapped myself when I saw $11k.
Especially since they want Indy's dad to play a decent part in the movie. As much as Connery is one of my all time favorite actors, he's up in the years, and probably only has a few years left on the blue ball. I'll see it strictly for the Connery factor.
These guys are always doing some good stuff. I was excited when I saw their double dash network piece, and now they're doing some good stuff on the wii. The build of opera currently on the wii definitely could still use some work (i know it's beta, but there's no feedback piece to make this known).
Ok, can we do something about these headlines that do absolutely nothing to explain what they're talking about? It might as well have said "Apple's new FSM (formerly Buddha) to replace Jeebus", because that would have just as much sense. I know we're supposed to RTFA, but the headline is supposed to at least explain it enough that we WANT to.
Not a nintendo fanboy. In fact, I haven't bought a new nintendo system since the nes (hell, didn't buy a SNES until 01, and that was because I hated playing earthbound on a keyboard/mouse combo). There are several games like Zelda that I give a week or so of play once a year, because they are amazing games, and the prettiness of them doesn't matter. I never meant that pretty and fun are exclusive, just that in the past few years, too much emphasis is on pretty, and not enough on fun.
I got my Wii at Midnight Sunday 19th (thanks game crazy), and have been playing it off and on when I can since then, getting in at least an hour everyday. I bought Zelda and Trauma Center with it. I've put about 10 hours in to zelda (great game, worth the system, though the wolf mode annoys the crap out of me), about 5 in to wii sports (man, these are a killer on the arm), and 1 hour in to trauma center. I've put a fairly good amount of time in to the original Legend of Zelda on the virtual console (play this once a year, just to remember what good, non-pretty gaming can be).
Overall, the Wii comes through on most of what it promised (innovative game play, etc), though, I have to say, I'm very disappointed with the lack of online toys. The browser is not active, new games only appear once a week for the virtual console, and the weather/news pieces aren't working at all yet. I recently upgraded my xbox's Xbox Media Center, and the stuff I could do on there made me really feel bad about the wii's meager network offerings (yes, I know XBMC is third party, but it's also been around for a few years, and still does more). I think that Nintendo NEEDS to get some more pieces out online before the end of the year.
for serial. I keep any pertinent personal data on other local drives than the OS itself, and then replicate that data out to my file/backup server, which does raid. If at any point any drive in there fails, I'll replace it, but not until it dies. Drives shelf lives are variable, and I want the most for my buck.
It seems microsoft may have finally figured out what it takes to get some hype in japan: rpgs, and quirky, somewhat off games. It's a shame there is no Wii titles in the top 5, but Phoenix Wright for the DS did manage to break that group. I honestly hope that these rpg titles match up to the hype, and allows for a true three system battle in Japan. Because nothing generates innovation more than competition.
because I'm not. I usually don't by current gen systems for the first year, and most of the time wait for them to drop in price and buy them used. Honestly, I cannot see how anyone can justify almost $800 to play the new DOA on their HD tv. ($600 system, $40 extra controller, $40 hd cord, $79 game). Honestly, aside from the wii, this will push people to the 360 as well. I will be purchasing the wii, an extra controller, and a couple of games, and that's still only going to be ~$400. It just doesn't add up sony.
damn if only I had mp...
I actually hopes this sticks around...
I've been trying to decide whether to get this for the 360 or the PC...I do like that they've made it available on so many platforms, though. /fp?
The Simpsons already did it.
Bart found that MLB was reading people's minds with satellites. A little too convenient that these are BASEBALL hats...

It offered me Safari when quicktime did its update as well, and by offered, it said it was installing it unless I hit cancel. not so good times.
BRAVO! of course my mod points expired yesterday :/
"If everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you?".
in the corporate world? Ya, for sure. At least, that's what i've seen, and I've been through a few large isps.
They've been doing it for about a year. i always thought it was fairly shady, but they rationalized it by saying other ISPs were doing it as well.

SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!?! /sorry, had to do it.
This has me fairly upset, as I've been chomping at the bit for this game.

strange doesn't begin to cover it. This is very odd worlds colliding.
