Actually I believe that the International conventions/regulations for Amateur Radio would make this apply regardless. Then there are the conventions of shipboard behavior... basically anything you do aboard ship is at the captain's permission...

Reciprocal licensing and such would potentially be an issue as well.

I see the point you are trying to make. However you didn't read his question correctly.

You read him asking "If they do exist, where are they?" as "If the rovers do exist, where are they?".

However in context the question is "If orbital pictures of them do exist, where are they?" as he said he can't find any out on the net.

  3. So what. on TiVoToGo for Mac Announced · · Score: 5, Insightful

At home I'm mostly a Mac guy. By bundling the new software only with a pay product when the Windows version is free is just insulting and bad business.

I just want to be able to copy some of our programs to a computer to watch. So I can watch my Sci-Fi when my wife or daughter are watching one of their programs, or so my daughter can watch one of her shows when the TV is otherwise busy.

We have no dvd burner in the computer and no desire to save these shows after viewing. Just want to have another screen to view them on.

didn't seem very personalized to me

  7. Don't Self Publish on Is Self Publishing Worth the Price? · · Score: 1

The best thing to say is really don't self publish at all. even with "some promotion" it still comes down to what the books stores consider a "vanity title" and many won't stock it.

As a result you are basically out your money.

  8. Nevada Gaming Commision on Tickets for Tracking Players in Casinos? · · Score: 1

I realize someone probably has commented on this already.

The NGC as strict rules regarding slot machine operations and regular surprise spot checks to insure that only NGC authorized chips are in use in the slots.

Think of them as giant videogames, the game is run my ROM chips that control the payoff rate of the machine. There is no magic button that the casino manager can hit to cause a machine to pay/not-pay. A casino in violation _will_ recieve stiff fines (stiff enough to actually make a casion think) and possiblity of shutdown.

  9. It's not so hot on Teoma Aims To Kill Google · · Score: 1

When ever a new search engine comes up I always try a search on my name to see how many results come back that are actualy related to me.

Google is fairly good the first page of results are all pages that contain my name as my name (not a geneology page with my first name in one place and last name in another) and also mostly the more relevant ones higher.

This new one gave me 2 pages that are from listserver archives that have messages by me and the rest of the first page was all geneology (granted they were all pages related to my actual family tree not just my last name) this is not a useful result set if I am trying to find pages that contain material by/about a specific person *now*.

My name is far from common (I am not a John Smith) so it is not an issue with the name being right but for some other person.

I think I'll stick with google.

  10. Not sure it is for real. on ClearChannel Plays It Safe · · Score: 2

    Two thoughts on this.

    1) I am in a ClearChannel market, in fact my main radio station driving to and from work is a ClearChannel station, and I have heard a couple songs from that list withing the last 24 hours so unless it is a brand new change the list is a fake.

    2) If you look at the list there are a number of songs that there is no way to justify them as having "questionable content".

So my personal take is that F***edCompany got a bad report.

The problem with installing a signal repeater is mostly that they don't work on recieve lines.

The length of the cable in question has a direct relationship to how well a signal can be recieved by the tranciever assembly.

Untill that signal is picked up there can not be any use of signal repeaters.

    also a signal repeater will
    1) slow down the data rate (not much but some)
    2) introduce more noise in the signal for each repeater used.
