Not all of them are, but the ones likely to get upset by this have: access to weapons; combat training; learned how to deal with the emotional cost of killing someone. Not the kind of person you want to risk upsetting.
For his sake, I hope he keeps it that way. There was an Australian businessman who visited Vegas last week and was arrested for violating US laws against online gambling, even though his business wasn't a gambling site and it wasn't hosted in the US. Now he's facing up to 75 years for being stupid enough to enter a nation who's laws he had violated in the past. His idiotic mistake should be a lesson to everyone else.
Why do so many atheists feel the need to be smug assholes? What the fuck does it matter to you if he believes in 'an invisible sky wizard'? Why can't you just let people believe what they will, why must you impose your beliefs on other people?
It has nothing to do with me being an atheist, I'm just an asshole.
He's publicly stated a belief in an invisible sky wizard, improper use of "who" and "whom" is the least of bit of evidence pointing to a lack of intelligence.
Let's assume for the sake of argument that we had the technology to stop a life-ending asteroid in its tracks, there would still be a strong argument for colonizing Mars (and other bodies): resources. As times goes on, we continue to consume the metals and energy we need for technology to function on this planet. Eventually, we're going to have to start mining the other bodies in the solar system, just to keep our technology moving forward. It might not be for 100 years or more, but that day will come, and when it does concerns about preserving some lifeless hunk of rock floating in space are going to sound pretty short sighted.
OK, then how about the many religions which have been spread by the sword, Christianity and Islam especially? They certainly gained converts using violence.
well, obviously the guy was deranged, but some of his points are valid.
If a crazy person screams out random thoughts on a street corner, surely some of them may be valid by themselves. But you have to remind yourself, it's a crazy person who's doing the yelling. I wouldn't spend too much time either searching for meaning in those screams, or trying to defend them.
Well, it stands to reason that violence is not going to gain you followers among the recipients of the sharp end of the stick.
Many sufferers of Stockholm Syndrome and Battered Wife Syndrome would like to have a word with you. It's entirely possible for people to suffer horrific violence at the hands of another, then convince themselves they had it coming and somehow deserved it.
I'm not sure how you reconcile "free press" with the notion of having to apply for a permit to be a member of the press? It's a little like having freedom of religion, but you have to go register to be a member of one of a group of "approved" churches.
I doubt it. A bill of attainder is a law that says someone is guilty of something. This law instead grants protection to a class of organizations, then states that a specific organization is not a part of that class.
So now only emails meeting a certain priority will make it to the top of the list. How long until people figure out how to make their emails have higher priority and start abusing that power, leading the same problem Google just solved? Better to rely on a combination of filters to sort your mail for you as it comes in than try to trust some automated system (that can be gamed by others) to do it for you.
I think the difference is that all participants in pornographic sex are being paid to perform. If you hire a hooker, it doesn't suddenly become legal to pay here to have sex with you if a camera's involved.
Of course, there's nothing stopping you from setting up your own dummy corporation and "paying" yourself to perform in your own videos.
The UN will address the symptoms with food and aid, but will never address the problem of dictatorships and warlords that cause this poverty and corruption.
That's because the UN was set up to help provide a way to prevent wars between nations. As long as a dictator is only starving his own people, the UN has no reason to get involved. It sucks, but the alternative is to have the UN turn into a one-world government, which could present its own set of challenges.
And you should leave the humorous comments to the would-be comedians. You know, the ones with a sense of humor...

See my previous post.
Time and space are pretty much the same thing to a theoretical physicist, remember.
I finally figured that part out about 40 feet ago.

tl;dr

Ha! He's Canadian! Fucking immigrants, doing the insane acts of terror that Americans should be doing. Stop stealing our jobs!
Mother nature is a real bitch when she's angry..
Nature really hates it when people anthropomorphize it.

Why should I care if something I do on the internet is illegal in Iran?
You should if you ever plan to visit Iran or any of their allies.
The internet is the only thread uniting mankind to the point where a conventional war won't happen easily.
That would explain why there have been no wars since 1994.
There isn't an ISP on this planet that can rival the Post Office or FedEx for bandwidth. Though like you said, the latency can be a bit much at times.

Might be a due process concern, though.

Better yet, go post them on Fark.

Just don't say anything rude in case you miss the moon.
You mean like "Belgium"?
Probably. Or he choked on an orange while dictating.
He wouldn't've taken the time to write it out, he just would've said it.
