    Several studies
    have looked at this question over the years and have concluded that wind energy has one of
    the shortest energy payback times of any energy technology. A wind turbine typically takes
    only a few months (3-8, depending on the average wind speed at its site) to "pay back" the
    energy needed for its fabrication, installation, operation, and retirement.

    The other issue is that you couldn't speed anymore. Games are played on a computer, not on the road.

    Most driving is done because it is fun. errr ... are you living in the same world as me ? Going 30 on the highway is *not* fun.

    "Distributed energy" I have to see it first before i believe electricty companies giving up their grip on our b@lls. I would like to be in control of my own power instead of paying a monthly bill ... give me those advanced batteries !

    The site reads a bit like the site of a hot-air factury.
    from their front-page 'Social Technologies is a global research and consulting firm specializing in the integration of foresight, strategy, and innovation.' djeezes.

    On energy, they say nothing about renewable energy like solar or wind, while it's clear even to me that solar will take a very big part of the production in the next years.

    transportation : 'personal transportation coordinated through wireless computer networks,' I think they're spot-on. In 2025, nobody will be allowed to steer vehicles anymore. (currently there are more deaths per year on the road than you wanna know)

    yup, no-one can stop free information flow anymore, the old media-conglomerates still try, but are losing the battle, Allthough i think search-engines will have a certain hand in the flow of information, but not more than that.

    Flanders is the dutch-speaking part of Belgium
    St. Martin is not celebrated in the whole of the Flanders region.
    In Belgium 11-11 is a national day off as Armistice.

    If nothing else, you could plug it into some sort of solar powered charger. That would reduce the need for coal powered electricity a bit, but probably not entirely. If you're not driving much, you can do with your car-roof-mounted solar array.

    all very good points, but my i refresh your memory ? The day 3rd edition came out wotc recalled all 2nd edition books, to destroy them, so you couldn't keep playing 2nd (that was what they hoped anyway) ... WTF ???

    Has anything really changed 2nd --> 3rd ? I don't think so. The system changed a bit, but the world stayed the same, and that's the only thing that matters.
