I don't think so : in general, europe is being lead by something that lies in between socialism and kapitalism : with much backup's for the weakest in society, with as a result of which poverty is WAY lower in europe than it is in US, and there are much fewer horribly rich people, which is a good thing.
You do know what socialism is do you ?
Have you read anywhere that it would criple it, in a scientific article ? I don't, on the contrary : some studies already show that it would give the economy a good stir-up. And even then : if nothing would be done against the environmental damages, the economy would criple anyway.
Not entirely : playing Monkey island 4 this winter, I had a lot of fun, which was a long time ago. In the older days, games made up for what they lacked technically by good thinking : improving playability, improving funfactor... Nowadays gamedesigners think that they can make a good game by just trowing in some extra effects.
Good point, but nowadays there aren't any games anymore that are so good that they keep you addicted for more than a few months. The technology used in new games is great, and they blow the old games away in that respect, but WHERE IS THE FUN GONE ?
I completely agree... lucasarts did make some very good games, of which none were on the list :
maniac mansion, day of the tentacle, the monkey island series... And I have the distinct feeling most games mentioned weren't older than 5 years. I guess they only interviewed very young people who didn't even touch a C64 in all there lives.
My number one game of all time is and will ever be Maniac mansion.
I think there is a serious misunderstanding about the WHY of the Kyoto-protocol here : if we keep burning oil at this rate, the average temperature on earth will rise with 5,8C. (that is about 10F)
The key here is : AVERAGE, some places will heat up by up to 20C, other will get colder, AND : there will be a serious increase of the number and intensity of storms, Furthermore the environment will deteriorate : much more desert, plus a decline in biodiversity.
Did you ever consider the fact that capitalism is not perfect ? Your kind of reasoning makes me believe you wanna pay all open source developers every time you use linux.
Oportunitaetsprinzip is indeed german, and in my opinion badly spelled, but in holland, people speak 'Dutch' (which is a lot like german, only 'less').
Here, (belgium) we already use a system to vote electronically for a few years. The system is fairly simple : you get a sort of credit-card on which you put your vote, by means of a computer(in the voting cabins). when you have made your choices, you retrieve your card from the computer, and you put it in a box, which immediatly counts your vote. The card is not reused, it stays in the box until the elections are over, this is than used as backup. The computers on which you make your vote are completely stand-alone. The box in which you drop your card is also stand-alone.
safety : if this system thoroughly tested, nothing can happen to your vote, and it is 100%accurate.
they made the best game ever : maniac mansion (parts I & II), closely followed by the secret of monkey island, but since then I never saw anything like that ever again, which is sad...

And Dutch is based on Antwerps, the language Adam and Eve spoke.

'And then we will all have to go start a new planet just to ...'
just because we will have destroyed this planet.

The reason I didn't buy any linux games yet is very simple : I can find them nowhere over here in belgium, so it is not surprising sales are low.
