Hm.. this doesnt seem to correspond with what the people who have hacked ricochet have said, i.e. the older units can run at up to 100kbit/sec raw, and the new ones can run at 256kbit/sec raw I have used the older units extensivly, in regular pole-top mode, in point-to-point mode, and in starmode. Also, the ATS304 register sets the _serial_ speed, either 0 (auto-detect up to 57600) or anything else. (yes, IHBT, IWHAND..)
I'm more concerned about this being used to track down people who watch too many "pirated" videos.. Are they not aligned with the MPAA and the RIAA?

Just a few clarifications: OS 7.5.5 was the last to support 68000 series macs, OS 7.6 was the last to support 68030 series, even then you needed a 32-bit clean machine. OS 8.1 was the last to support 68040 machines, and even some 68k that were upgraded to PPC (it was possible to hack 8.5 on them though, but it ran extremely slow on my 540c w/ upgrade.) All the systems since then require at least a PPC.
"a couble Dbi per meter" ??? mabye if you use RG-174
Normal LMR-400 only loses 6.6 dB/100'
2 inch heliax (around $1/ft) would lose less then 1.5dB/100'

in the bay area, its all ready there.
i've seen at least 2, one on the intersection of de anza and homestead, and one on homestead @ wolf

There is a bug in the code in your sig.. about 5 chars in it sez "d* =b", this should be "d*=b" (note the lack of space). Otherwise it didnt compile on my system
the "Soulmate" from Memory corperation doesnt have sdmi.
the thing is its not expandable, only talks to windows, and the windows interface is pretty cruddy too. the company wont release the xfer specs wither.
side off-topic note: does anybody know how to get a sniffer to monitor parport activity under win98? i would be most happy..

there would be _no_ problem doing this, the 2.4Ghz spectrum is _freely_ available for use in the US,
and people have been using this same stuff for a while now here.
This is stupid. Companies should not be penalized for the actions of its customers.

This is an outrage! _I_ was going to make that joke!
Also the per-minute costs on ISDN push the price up to about the same as a frame-relay, in my area at least.
Hm, this would seem to induce too much lag in the system. Mabye implement this on top of existing networks and use heavy encryption?
