Not that it matters anyway because I can't stand listening to music from "normal" radio stations. All the ones I have heard has uses (forgot the right technical word) some form of limiter which evens out the signal so you can hear in pop or rock music at drumbeats, the rest of the music drops in strength. I guess it's to avoid bothering people with different sound levels and perhaps to deliver a signal that poor portable radios can play.
That said, I have heard terrible internet streams at 128kbps also. I guess the admin people in the other end has not listened to their stream on other speakers than the ones on their computer.
Sadly most of these applications lacks any security. Some supports WEP, but none supports WPA, so most of the time if you want to connect other devices than your PC, you have to lower your security standards. As for the product we see here, I think it is a great concept but I was unable to determine if it supports any security at all.
>But yeah: the point remains that 3rd party apps can work with WMV just fine. As long as they are running windows.
It is also a bitch that you have to get 1 Windows server in your Linux farm just so you can stream WMA because it's the only format we can stream without the website visitors having to install a player.
You are downloading some torren and you have leeched 764 megabytes and seeded 432. How many megabytes before it's even? What are your leech/seed ratio?
If technology has it way I think we will see subscription packages(and pay per view if you don't want the whole series) for TV shows / programs instead and you would be able to watch them on demand, perhaps a Tivo like device that would download what you wanted to see and cache it, new shows could be pushed to your machine in a multicast fashion.
So the Sunday Simpsons would still only first be available at a regular schedule and the the live news programs would still have broadcast times but you could also see them later.
Of course the matter is still the bandwidth it would require and it would first happen as a kind of merger between the internet / cable tv / telephone into one package.
The first thing I did, was to replace the fan, including the one in the PSU, helped a lot. However I would like to install a better heatsink so i am thinking of using one of those motherboard heatsinks, like the Swiftech MCX159-R, just cant figure out if it fits. But then the harddrives will be the loudest part.
I am a bit dissapointed with the speed, but as it functions as my home file, web, mail server on Redhat it does not matter much.

I am sure that people by now have seen the interview on the daily show.:D too funny.
At least the c3 has a hardware random number generator for better encryption. Sadly you need stepping 03 of the Nehemiah core, as I discovered when I got my motherboard and got Linux compiled to use it. I had a 01 stepping so it was no-go. Felt kinda cheated. (as well as the low-noise really isn't all that lown noise)
I only noticed it a few places places where he was really shiny and the red color were much brighter. Too bad because it was really well done otherwise.

Interesting. It's a bit like when people try to sell me vmWare. I can see the advantages but you still have to figure out some way to keep all the virtual machines updated.
If the manage to tie the computer down with DRM and the like, they can apply the game console trategy to your computer and for all of those who just wants a service, a function it might be fine, but for those of us who likes to open up the hood, it would be hell. Except for those, of course, who sees the challenge of hacking it despite it would be breaking the law.
Day 1. Me sets up my 300 GB wifi disk, had to disable WPA to get it running. Day 2. Moved 50 GB of junk out on the drive Day 3. It's Friday, party'n'drinking Day 4. It's Saturday, party'n'drinking Day 5. It's hangover Sunday, staying in bed watching tv, surfining on my wifi notebook. Wondering why my internet connection is so SLOW. Day 6. Found 250GB of programs on my wifi disk that I didn't knew I had. Internet connection still slow. ----- Day 7. My internet is fast again, horray! Day 8. Discovered that I had unplugged my wifi drive yesterday, dammit. Day 9. Internet slow again, what gives?
Not my cable, I "only" have a 29" tv, but after I moved to the city and got cable, my picture got worse. I had much better picture with my own antenna and dish. Oh yes, I can buy that digital decoder which will double my monthly price with no extra channels included. So then my price will be 60$ pr month, then I can start adding pay channels or packages at a price between 8$ - 35$ each.
Sometimes I almost get tempted, but then I realize that all I watches are the news and the "deeper" discussion/politics/money/news shows on the mustcarry national channels anyway.
Having mailing lists is a bitch as soon you get over a couple of 1000 people on it. Where are always people complaining about it as being spam. Even though it's a double opt in, the mail server sending the mails, are always going to be marked in some blacklist somewhere. And you have to configure postfix right when dealing with big companies such as aol, hotmail etc. so you throttle mails send to them at a slow pace.
If not, then how could the internet outtage we hade some time ago(the ddos attack deal if I remember correctly). There were many reports that the problems on differrent parts on the internet, caused problems for banks and ATM machines.
That being said, I simply don't understand why they would use the internet as transportation media. Companies making WANs on the internet using VPN is one thing but even they use dedicated lines if the connectivity is vital to their business.
But A TiVo would be cool too. To hell with those scandinavian cable providers, they all suck.

No it's just people here on slashdot who do not understand. You and me are going to get rich!!

which is a shame because it really pulls down the otherwise great impression you get from the KDE graphics.
Also, this use of the word "slave" is unacceptable. :)
We need to stop this offensive labeling NOW!
Before someone are feeling hurt!
That way, America would have to blur the moon, for the entire continent, forever.
Dad, why is the moon pixelated?
It's a filthy, filthy place, son.
"Oh no, I am feeling a slight nausea"
"And the lack of my steadicam doesn't help either"
Joke's aside, these handheld movies makes me dizzy.

or do you think they are embracing on the Open Source movement?
Oh yeah, right. Come on. what kind of stupid question is that?
"It is not a hamster, it's a rat!"
"no rat, hramster!"
Or baseball gloves. (Although that one would be fun)
It depends on where you plan putting your hand...
Then again, you might have a different idea of fun than me.
