I was browsing their site just to check it out and up came the window. I like the concept that you can get in touch with someone right away, but I rather wait until I am ready. No matter what I am buying, I like to gather some information first and then contact the company myself when I have some questions ready regarding their products.
It's true that the image often is out of focus in different parts on camera phones and the colors are bleeding into each other, this is mostly because they use (cheap?)plastic lenses with poor optical qualities rather than the size. But you are correct the higher pixel counts is worth nothing unless they improve the lenses.
The 640x480 I have in my old Nokia phone could have produced a good picture if they had installed a proper lens. I guess they thought that since it was so low resolution it didn't matter, but it does. (or it was just a proof-of-concept phone)
I use it mostly for documenting rack cabinets at our co-lo and taking pictures of hardware errors in the BIOS log file(never can find a floppy to dump it to) on the IBM servers. Oh year, and for the occasional Microsoft bluscreen on a information of billboard sign somewhere. While I can live without my camera in my phone, it has helped me from time to time.

I would expect my local news station to bite and waste airtime on this. But a technology site like this? I mean, when you hear the headline, I(as a geek) think, how can this be possible, a robot police officer. On the news on TV, I get the same thought but can dismiss it right away as a "stupid news people took the bait on something they did not understand". But I would expect that I didn't have to use the same filter when reading news links here.
Now, I'm not here to play the "My distro can beat up your distro" game No let's not.:) I am running Redhat 9 and have just tried SuSE on my desktop and was impressed by the hardware configuration functions compared to Redhat. Only problem I had was I could not get it to run other refresh rates than 60Hz on my monitor. Even when it claimed to do so, the info menu in my monitor still said 60, and that annoying flicker was painfull to look at.
Are you telling me I have to pay some ritzy european mechanic dealership a shitload of cash just to do these menial maintainance tasks?
You already have to do that if you want to keep the warranty of the car. Some of the extended warrenties goes away if it has not been serviced within the specified intervals by a authorized mechanic.
But these days days with all the virtualization getting hot(vmware etc), a server architecture with a single memory bus/controller is getting old. I'd like to see some test on servers like the IBM x445 with NUMA.
I've got four grandchildren and when my wife's changing their diapers I try to stay far enough away from her to avoid the smell, because I try not to shock my nose.
Who wouldn't love to have that excuse. Sorry, no nose, no job. I have to protect it.
What would dirty Harry say? And I don't care if it's not related, with SCO in mind it just makes you feel good. ----------- I know what you're thinking punk. You're thinking did he fire six shots or only five? And to tell you the truth I've forgotten myself in all this excitement. But being this is a.44 Magnum - the most powerful hand gun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question.. Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk!
It is true, the engine in my car does not run well on low octane which is a problem because where I live the high octane are being fased out.
I had noticed that often after having tanked at a specific station, I often felt the engine ran worse. So after a while, I mentioned it while paying for the gas, just in a half joking way. To my surprise the guy said that they did not have enough tanks in the ground for it but they were one of the (few) stations required to have the high octane. And since not may people buy it, it was bad economy to have another tank digged down(the stations was in the center of the city).
Of course I had seen all the pamphlets saying that I just should get my engine tuned in to run on lower octane, but I'd rather drive longer to get it filled up than have it adjusted and lose the horsepower.
Ok, monitoring the car can be good or bad. Here's a little story from the real world.
Someone had a very expensive car, the kind of car that cost a fortune to get a insurance for. So the car got a tracking device installed to get a lower insurance. These devices are normally intalled in different places hard to find unless you take the entire car apart and also has their own battery.
One day the police got a call from the company tracking these cars for the insurance company. The car appeared to had been stolen and was going down the freeway. The police got running updates of the location of the car. drove after it down the freeway and ended up "capturing" the thief in a parking lot by blocking the exits with police cars. The "thief" turned out to be a family member not normally driving the car who had forgotten to disarm the alarm. The alarm did not make any noise if not disarmed, it just sat there, sending the coordinates from a gps antenna through the cell phone network.
So the owner was happy to see that the alarm indeed worked but less happy about all the attention the Saturday shopping got. The story said nothing about the price for this mistake.
Why try to invent anything, someone will just come up and sue you, claiming the have a patent on it. It is much better to take an existing product and put a clock in it.
Here's a cut'n'paste of the entire book.

As far as I understand, the fight to be the president now revolves around same sex marriages. It seems to me that no-one has high thoughts about the voters. As an outsider, these American elections seems rather silly and I have never understood why the public allows this circus which seems to be all about avoiding important national issues. But then again, that might why explain the low number of people voting.
Ditto, I guess if you only run it on the most common hardware, it might be easier. I played around with it also and found it to cause many problems. If you run Red Hat, check out this webcast 2.6 Linux Kernel in Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.3: A Technology Overview about them backporting features to 2.4. I run a great deal of IBM servers and I can see their ties with IBM. I hope this webcast will enlighten me to how they make sure that Red Hat gets the most of the IBM servers, since we have a company decision to run Red Hat.

on Discovery. I saw a flying robot controlled car on a show in 1997 and I want it now, dammit.
"But it'll be out "when it's done dammit."
Someone at their office should stand up and say, "It's dead, Jim"

yes, seems you could end up with a virtual case of Mutual Assured Destruction.
If I was being attacked, the last thing I wanted to waste bandwidth on was attacking back.

Your right, just like you can check the condition of the car you are about to buy, by kicking the tyres.

Yes, but has Steve Ballmer been on Married with children?
I think not!

I have seen that sites that does nothing but sells stuff, has gotten higher rankings lately. But maybe I just need to be more specific in my searches.
No, Norton Commander killed Norton Commander. I remember some windows version of NC but it did everything wrong that Total Commander does right. :D
