How often haven't we looked at things we know nothing about, thinking that it can't be that hard, or there isn't much to it.
When videocameras became a household item, we all thought that it would be easy to make quality vacation movies only to discover that watching hours of TV and movies does not give you the skills. As they say in France "pouvez vous avoir la grande honte pour traduire ceci", he who thinks he knows everything, knows nothing.
In the case of Nascar there's is also added a lot of "padding/filling" to make the broadcasts more interesting. This is done in many programs so that people who don't know about the "rules/mechanics/physics" about the actual driving, can be entertained too.
Now you may hate the entire country of France, but they have a saying, "Der er biler paa striben i aften" which could be transferred to the Simpson quote "Take an existing product and put a clock in it". Of course innovation requires that you won't get ripped of when you come up with a great idea, but at the same time what good is it if no one can use it. Would the WWW have accelerated so fast if you were to pay license fees for every application using HTML codes? I think not. It's a fine balance that you have to maintain. To little and too much protection is evil.
So the difference from today is that it will save customs for a lot of work since they currently are sending me a bill for the taxes after I got the package. They are also months behind as it is.
Anyway before ranting about having to pay taxes on internet sales, I just wanted to say that the taxes already are there if you follow the law, but with the change so that the internet companies have to charge for the taxes, it should be easier for us buyers to get stuff from the internet without having to deal with all those mails and bills from customs afterwards.
The only big hurdle is I see it is a way to implement it without killing the small shops outthere.
No they can't, and isn't that a shame. I too use that concept and while I agree it sucks, it clearly had a good effect on the rate of spam mails. Old, now unused, email adr. that I had on webpages, got up to 30 spam mails every day. It was almost as bad as a Hotmail account.
I use Google because I have the warm fuzzy impression that if it's on the net, I can find it with Google and a proper formed query. Now the moment I no longer feel that Google contains a proper representation I have no use for it. although I have become quite fond of the google groups for troubleshooting and nostalgia.
If these spineless suits turns google into a censored site, it would be a sad day for the internet. And as it have been said before, why not go for the original site instead. Maybe it's easier to "go for Google"(tm) because the responds to their mails. Maybe the go for Google because of the same reason that I use Google, if it's not on Google nobody will find it. So they cache pages, what about that internet archive(wayback thingy)?
Wired News reported today that Microsoft has outsourced their DNS to Akamai, and microsoft.com is now being served by name servers with a "networking implementation very similar to that of Linux". Akamai Technologies is a well-known Linux shop, but let's see.
Even though it does have M$ on it, one could imagine the use of it. A mobile computer where it uses you stationary machine. Not a heavy bastard but light to carry, big display. Take your PC to meetings, do that Sunday "morning" hangover surfing from bed, instead of using your "heavy" notebook. Of course one would miss that nice warming feeling the notebook gives.
Outlook! I know, but think about it. It does a lot of things for you, all by itself, you don't get disturbed by it, like having to decide that to choose in tons og dialog boxes. In fact, with the modern approach in Outlook today you can even embed code in your mail that can do all kind of wierd and wonderful things. Trust me, install Outlook and your computer will never look the same.
I guess with all those people who have rooted CowboyNeals box, his password file etc, must be updated more often than a Dr.Watson log file. Whee look at his Harddrive LED go, it's not blinking, it's just,,, lit....
" I neither endorse nor recommend any of the procedures mentioned"
I do, it's a lot of fun, but along with your laptop to reprogram it, you need a device to measure performance improvements also. You can't judge yourself if you got +5hp or lost 5 due to your changes in configuration. And while your at it, you need to remember that different air temperature and the amount of water in the air, changes the performance of the engine.
I have built a cold air intake for my engine, shielded the intake from heat from the engine the car already had a pipe all the way to the front to ensure it picked it up from the outside.
A cold damp, foggy morning does wonders in terms of performance, it's something my car really like. Of course one needs to find the perfect place to drive where the road isn't slippery.
Then of course there is my NOS installation (Nitro Oxide System) another nice little hack, with adds +50% horse power when accel. could get +75% or more, but I would like my engine to last 50.000 before changing it. Note, that all these changes and improvements of the engine og course changes the specs so much that it is not legal anymore for street use. Just in case you care.
Fits very well into the picture how some of us foreigners have of the whole suing deal in the US. Might be a amplified view caused by too many cheap tv series.:) Anyway, I haven't read the thead/actual emails but it seems stuped that they did block his email and did not allow him to defend himself. After all that's also what free speach is about. Still a lawsuit seems over the edge.
http://www.wehavethewayout.com/ is down and have been down most of the day, I guess a unprotected W2K servers average living time on the net is 24 hours. I almost feel pity for them...... Almost.
Baby Bell Blatantly Blasts "Bandwidth Bandit's" Blogs
I'd say that Luminex would be great for my second-base mobile, along with the quadraphonic sound, the waterbed, and the strobe light.
oh yeah baby!
You really shouldn't use the word "stroke" in that line, unless..

IP protection does NOT work, abstinence is the solution.
Be cool, Don't do it!
Correct me if I am wrong,
I think it is just a bunch of hot air.
the answer must be YES!
Hmm, very good one I'd say, take a look at it!
Even if it's man-made, it's still one heck of a job.

So when it's only half filled, will the chip see it as half empty or half full??

I feat that it would have a very negative impact on the apache stats. on Netcraft. Imagine it, from day to day 25% less webservers on the internet. :)
