I'm ashamed to have worked there for the three years that I did... Of course some of their advertising ideas for the first release of Turok for N64 were pretty out there, but I guess they needed to find a way to kill the reputation that had of making the world worst games..
I wen't to the expo, partly to talk to some Oracle engineers regarding Oracle on Linux, of course they were a no show. Now they announce this? So where's their support for Linux? Just an observation, that's all.
You know, I bought my 2001 Tahoe, which acme with 1 year of free Onstar.. never used it, have no need. But then NY decided to impose the cell phone ban, and i figured i would renew it for at least another year.. just in case i needed to use the cell feature. If the start spamming me with ads, Im going to ask for my money back. Its bad enough i find 20 flyers on my car every night when I get off the train, then get home to about 500 peices of junk mail, and then have to sift through email... i dont need it in the car..sorry onstar
I used to DJ nightclubs, so my CD collection, then combined with my wifes..converted to MP3's is way over 100 gigs. So I can see someone needing that kind of space.
I used FreeVSD in a production environment for some big media clients my company has. It was running under Redhat 6.2, on, get this, a Dual processor Celeron 400 with 512Mb Ram. Beyond three virtual servers, the machine would start to really slow down, but with 3 total on one box, it saved us a ton of $, and it worked like a charm. They have a nice admin tool, for those who are command line inept. I certainly suggest checking it out. And no, I am not related to this project at all. The software filled a great need for me, and I'd like to see it survive.
cmon' idealab! has appeard about 100 times already on fu@#edcompany... they'll start this "plug-in" and then tank.. maybe they should focus on the business they still have before it goes under..
God, here I thought I was the only one who had a TI994A. My parents bought me one, and then sent me to a special school on Long Island that taught programming on the TI. I began converting all my choose your own adventure books into programs.. I guess thats why Im here today..
Odd, apache 1.1.1 is in there, but not 1.3.12? mysql-3.20.13-beta.tar.gz? It seems like alot of old stuff... is it just me? am I being blind tonight? I do that sometimes..
I don't think easter eggs are a dying breed, at least not on different fronts. I run a site for DVD easter eggs (www.dvdeastereggs.com) and it seems as more and more DVD's come out, the more and more they are hiding crap in them. Granted, software companies might not be doing it as much as they used to, but hardware, dvd and other companies sure as heck are.

The Easter Eggs for the 2 Discs have already been exposed, I just hope they are, shall we say, legit. Check em out at DVD Easter Eggs.
They better not start F'in with the iPaq, and their support for linux development for that platform, it's the only reason I bought my damn iPaq.
Thanks for the plug for my site.. cant wait to see my bandwidth bill ;)
