I think you'll find that your local big-box home store has plenty of CFLs in the >40 watt range. Home Depot carries CFLs up to 65W (replacement for a 300W incandescent!).
Are you implying that you can hear the difference between a CD-R that was burned on a cheap burner vs. one that was burned on an expensive, better-quality one? I'd find that hard to believe. It's digital. Bits are bits.
I had an old 240MB Quantum with a tiny ball of tin foil jammed onto the pins to serve as the jumper. I didn't have that much faith in my soldering skills back then.
Below who's cost? Maybe below the indepedent's cost, but probably not below Walmart's cost. It's called volume discounting. If the independent was willing to buy 10 million widgets at a time, like Walmart does, then they'd probably be able to sell them for a similar price.
Things change. If you own a business, your business model might need to be one of those things. Ask the RIAA about that one.
I haven't bought a CD for several months because I've been busy, but this just sealed the deal. I will never buy a new CD from any RIAA owned artist again!
You get an "Informative", but I don't even get a "Funny"? What's up, moderators? I know I could use my camera just like the MiniDV folks. I was just making a lame(apparently), pre-coffee attempt at humor by suggesting that I couldn't figure out how to back up data onto an 8mm tape when there are a plethora of 8mm tape drives out there.
...and UPS paid the road taxes on the gas it bought to put in that truck. UPS passed that expense along to it customer(Amazon.com) when it provided a service to them(shipping stuff to the customer). Amazon.com did not use the road, UPS did. All appropriate taxes were paid accordingly.
If I had mod points, I'd mod you up. I agree 100%. If the homework is not done, the kid should not spend 1 second watching TV, talking on the phone, playing video games, etc. That's not to say that you should just lock him in his room and forget about him, though. As the parent post said, you should offer to help with anything except actually doing his homework for him. Once he understands that you are willing to help, and that he will be doing ABSOLUTELY nothing else until the homework is finished, he'll start doing it.
Admittedly, this is complicated greatly by the 50% custody thing. That's a whole different issue, though.
I guess I should have looked around a bit before I made my first post. It seems that 8cm CD-R discs are widely available. Assuming that the gamecube would read a CD(which it may not), and that you could stay within the ~180MB limit, you could just use one of those. I saw 8cm DVD, DVD-R, and DVD-RAM discs mentioned in several places, but I didn't actually find any place to buy blanks right now. I'm sure this would create a demand for them, though.
How would you get Linux or BSD onto a 8cm disc that must be something like a DVD? It says it holds 1.5GB. Is that a standard size or something Nintendo made up to try to slow down game piracy?
This is very similar to what I did. I skipped the resistors, though. I just installed a 24V fan in my power supply in place of the 12V one.
Since my CPU fan was in the process of dying, I removed it and installed 2 12V 50mm fans(standard size CPU fan). I have a Slot1 CPU, so my heatsink was big enough to accomodate this. I wired those fans in series so they each get roughly 6V. Since my mainboard has 2 fan connectors, I connected the RPM wire from each fan to the appropiate pin on the mainboard. This allows me to monitor the RPM of each fan individually. My CPU actually runs cooler now than it before! The only noise I can hear from my computer is the hard drive.
I also work at a college and face problem of students(and faculty) losing stuff on floppies. My standard response is to send them to a free internet storage site. The files would then be available anywhere/any time. I recommend any of the following sites: X-Drive Student Drive I-Drive Driveway

So someone, somewhere has to be coming up with more letters - otherwise there is nothing with which to make new words?
She should know what she's talking about. I'd say she's one of the nations leading experts on "loose morals and corrupting influences".

Actually, some VW Beetles (the old ones, not the new ones) had the gas filler under the "hood".

I don't have MiniDV, though. I have Digital8. ...now if I could just figure out some way to back up data onto those. :)
"reslut"?! Oh. man! That's beautiful!

What a beast! Maybe someone could port the Distributed.net client to run on it so it would have something to do when I'm just reading Slashdot.
If they can't pass on a "credit card surcharge", they just pass on a "cash discount".
