    Your government at work:

Stalin's defense of the Russian front and execution of political prisoners during WWII

    Hitler and the Holocaust

    Mugabe in Zimbabwe

With protection like this, who needs external terrorists!

Should they cease to compete with anyone, since that would be "evil"??

Come on, more competition is a good thing. More players yields more choice, lower price, etc. etc. If google wants to go into the IM business to compete with MS, more power to them! Everyone wins in the end with better products.

"Junk" in the datastream is useful (since we have made it, we use the control codes to reassemble).

"Junk" in DNA (e.g., "latent" DNA) is probably not junk, we just don't know the function (yet). No scientist worth their salt would admit that (at least not in earshot of a grant proposal review committee!)

List could be provided to "authorities" for punitive measures. Given the shabby state of the fourth amendment, it hardly seeems a stretch.

would never go for that strategy. How will selling Linux services enhance shareholder return on investment?

A publicly traded company exists solely to make profits for shareholders. This is accomplished by crushing competition (ideally). If you can't crush 'em though, you don't sell their products! This isn't a sound business model.

If you are still using AT&T for home phone service, you deserve what you get. This should give these folks the impetus to go out and shop around. Using AT&T for phone service is like using AOL or MSN for internet access (at least from a price perspective). There are soooo many better deals available, why would you even want to use AT&T?
