it's 7 am and i am tired and probably shou;ldn't be posting, however there is a huge difference between living in a simulation and actually just in a simulaton. The idea behind the matrix is we are somewhere else hooked up to all kinds of tubes etc... and the matrix is a fantasy world, however the more believable circumstance is that are existence is just a simulation, that we are created by some being and put in the simulation and that's the only existence we will ever know. However the philosophical argument against this is why the heck do we have consciousness, why am i even able to wonder whether i am in a simulation and why do i care and have purpose ? Why don't i just DO ?
from what i've heard from my uncle who is a lawyer (he looked over one i signed) it's too broad to hold up in court. You need to have specific geographic locations, limit it to a specific field, and it has to be a reasonable amount of years.
the other problem that people don't realize is that a lot of fossil fuel burns in the environment naturally too and is released naturally. In the gulf of mexico for instance, oil seeps through the earth's crust creating natural oil slicks which harm animal life in that area, oil that if drilled would not slick as much. This proves that in some cases, action or inaction by us hurts the environment not just oil drilling, but perhaps not drilling sometimes hurts the environment. I think we have to weigh the pros and cons every time we make environmental decisions, both sides have to be looked at, not just the environmental side, and not just the economic side.
great movie.... Kurt Russell as Jack Burton: That is not water. Victor Wong (III) as Egg Shen: Black blood of the earth. Jack: You mean oil. Igg: I mean black blood of the earth.
i put it in a previous post but it fits here better, the man who knew too little is another underrated bill murray movie. but i agree groundhog day is a cult classic, and it isn't really underappreciated though, they put it on encore every once in awhile and tnt used to run it a ton
it's with bill murray and very underappreciated, i laughed the whole time eventhough it was very basic humor, also one of murray's lesser known movies.

if someone's email is not going through to an AOL person because of this, then why don't they just tell AOL and then they can remove the block on them. I think it's a great idea, obviously if you have the email john@screwaol.com and your email is blocked then someone at some point or another sent a ton of spam to aol members. If this is the case then your ISP should be banning that user and contacting AOL too, this will wake up the rest of the net who is ignoring who is on their servers, especially since a ton of people use AOL.

you're saying that no one gives their credit card number out to people ? Are you joking ? I bet you'd be amazed at how many people get tricked into giving it out online through scams. Also, any system made by humans can be social engineered by humans
it's more comparable to 10 men doing simple functions and at the end building something bigger, more robust and complex then the one man doing the entire thing in one month. The theory behind it sounds to me like the combination of the parts make up more than the whole when those parts are allowed to be simple.
i have a feeling that stupid people giving up their credit card numbers/social security numbers through social engineering has a lot more to do with this then the database break ins. And i also think that social engineering is going to flaw any system. These two factors basically ensure that no security will be good enough.
is it just me or does this seem outlandish ? Here's a good example, someone gains access to my credit card through some shopping database then uses my credit card. OH NO WHAT SHALL I EVER DO!!! My guess is that i cancel the card and get a new one, uh oh that was so hard I am surely doomed ??
not to say that bands shouldn't make more money from their albums, but they also make money touring. And i think bands are making more money touring these days because ticket prices are up and because of musician run fan clubs selling their own tickets with convenience fees...
yeah i agree, you have it for that reason too, but i definitely have a credit card also because of fraud and so that i can dispute a charge non-fraudulently too. I.e. if a store sells me a defective product and refuses to refund my money i can do a chargeback too, whereas with money i would have to go to court without the ease of a chargeback.
yeah but the whole reason you have a credit card is because of fraud. If someone uses my credit card fraudulently, then i cancel the card and the charges, whereas if someone steals $200 from me then i'm screwed. It's not a big deal....
why don't you just tell people to send you a CD of all their free stuff. I'm sure there are people with nothing better to do then send cd's, what's your address again ?
I think it has to do with a thing i like to call college tuition inflation. However if this corresponded correctly there would be scores like A infinity or A++++++++++++++++++++ for what was a B in 1991, so maybe i'm wrong =)
david colburn couldn't bare to hit next to read the rest of the article....yeeehaw

maybe they should just realize you can't sell something that isn't a real object.
