That's not exactly how it works. First of all, the industrial grade inverter to supply energy back to the grid cleanly is about $2000 on the low end. Secondly, practically nobody has an array big enough to have a net gain where they actually get a check from the electric company. Maybe their electric bill went from $200 to $100 but to go -$100 is pretty unheard of. Third, the buyback rate is structured so that even if the company turned their power plant completely off because 10,000 private solar array owners were sufficient to power the entire local grid, they'd be paying out about what it would cost to run the power plant. In other words, there's still a profit built in.
OMG if one more fucking site does that, I'm gonna burn down the entire internet, lol. First download.com started it and now softpedia and like 6 more I know of did it. Everyone gave them all a big "fuck you, I'm going to filehippo" but even if 90% of their users leave, ad revenue vs crapware revenue is a pretty big difference. They're still probably making a profit. Either the US government or antivirus companies need to grow some balls and start taking down these American companies that are using their websites as a launching platform for malware. Yes, it has an opt-in and an uninstaller so it's not illegal but so what? It's dishonest and should be illegal.
So this whole time you haven't noticed the retina-melting colors in iOS7 or been told to drive across an airport runway or into the ocean to get to Starbucks by Siri? I don't think you're testing the iPhone hard enough.
They can link or not link all day but guess what, it's illegal for me to stand outside a restaurant and tell people that they're doing something illegal and harmful inside and that they shouldn't go inside when that isn't actually true. It's the same on the internet.
What a stupid prank article. Oh yeah, my uninfected computer interpreted ultrasonic sounds and saved them as an executable file on the root drive on its own. Ah huh. I can't believe anyone is stupid enough to believe this. The BIOS chip can't even send data directly to the speakers. This is such complete sci-fi nonsense, how are any of you taking this seriously?
Yep, sue the shit out of them. Everyone says it's so hard to prove damages. Um, look at the web stats for inbound links from each place and the drop in ad revenue. Those are real numbers that they really will cut you a check for after a very short court case.
I looooove watching their reaction when I tell Apple fanboys, who are convinced that iPhones rule the world, that for every apple phone out there, there's about 4 Android ones. They're in an unwise minority who can't see past their own prejudice to buy a superior product from someone other than Apple. That and their music and contacts and apps are all stuck in the TrApple (iCloud, i-devices, etc) so they couldn't switch if they wanted to.
Yeah, it's nonbinding as in they can still do it but they'll get massacred on the stock price. Good luck with that one, Larry. You know what would be really funny? If the stock options he got were voting stocks. Then he could show up in a hat, big glasses, and a mustache and and vote yes on Larry's compensation.
Wow, they had a chemical weapon capable of producing equipment? Slashdot better upgrade their grammatical and punctuation defenses to deal with that one. Type to launch a preemptive hyphen at that title.
Chrome usage has been falling by approx 0.25% market share per month for the last year or so. It's like they're just trying to accelerate it now. Plus, I'm 99% sure this is an exact clone of a feature included with IE7. The IE10 version is even more popular with it's 5 or so clicks to finally get to the "I don't give a fuck if you haven't heard of this download, it's from fucking Sourceforge, don't delete it and let me run the damn thing. Yes I know it's a fucking MSI file" button. REAL popular feature.
What are they even talking about? You buy ANYTHING in the state, it's taxed. Buy ANYTHING from outside the state, it's not taxed. Unless the product is classified specifically as tax exempt, it gets taxed. I know this, as I run a computer repair and accessories store. If I sell a copy of Malwarebytes, it's subject to sales tax because it is a thing and I'm selling it in the state. So saying they might start taxing software sales is idiotic. They either already do or it's interstate so it's against Federal law for them to do so.
I believe it was 2 days ago that I mentioned Lavabit would start a new project with self-signed or otherwise decentralized peer to peer encrypted e-mail with their newfound publicity. Tada, here it is.
Okay, the NSA is in your house, behind your couch, with a parabolic mic. They're also most of your friends on Facebook and the guy who gives you free chicken nuggets at restaurants. They're probably replying to this post too, lol.
This is exactly what cops have always wanted. If only there was a way to identify self-important, stuck up assholes who think they're better than everyone else and are thus speeding. Oh wait! See if they're wearing Google glass.
You're the type of unrealistic idiot that's ruining Linux. Our CRM doesn't run on it. Office 2003 doesn't run on it. Outlook especially doesn't run on it. There are no security controls like group policy. Nobody knows how to use it. Not all our hardware would have drivers. Our blueprint plotters doesn't work with it. Updates to the OS could break anything. AutoCAD doesn't run on it. Remote meeting software doesn't run on it. Should I go on?
"Should they just take our money and deliver the service before we change our minds?"
'we' who? I'll buy an EA game when hell freezes over. They beat Bank of America for worst company on the planet.
Did they also censor Barbara Streissand's comments? Just kidding, it's such a given to make that joke about Apple, she practically works in their PR department, lol.
Wow, and Adobe is so into security. It's practically their specialty. By the way, this isn't a commonly known fact but their user support forums make 4chan look sincere, civil, and helpful by comparison.
I knew since they launched it that it'd be too small to read, too big, too heavy, too warm, too annoying to charge, and too underperforming. I have a feeling so did Samsung. Obviously the average consumer knows nothing about mobile technology or they'd have known it too. At least they finally figured it out days after buying it. What a bunch of idiots. I wouldn't be surprised if some returned it because their magic magnetic energy field anti-cancer aura-boosting magnet wristband was interfering with it.
For those of you wondering how this happened, I told my bosses about it about 2 years ago. I made a schedule of replacing 2.5 computers every 100 days and that would bring us right up there. Every single time it came up, they delayed it. We actually added about 4 more XP workstations so the number of replaced PCs went negative. Now we need to replace about 24 in the next 6 months and we don't have the money for that so we're screwed. I plan on finding a different job prior to April 8th.

Oh, my bad. Correction: 6 android phones for every iphone.

It's awfully hard to detect a math error with a physical sensor.

From TFA: the watch only works with tablets. It didn't work with Samsung cell phones except since this morning or something like that.
