Ok, to be correct: Only the first match is highlighted. But you can jump to the next match with F3.

Sure. Just try it with CVS HEAD. It's a feature of the HTML widget. So it works in konqueror, kmail, ...
After hitting '/' enter the first letters of the search string and all occurrencies will be highlighted.

    And there is even more.
Or did you know that you can use emacs like keybindings in KDE?
One can for example open documents with ctrl-x-o, save with ctrl-x-s or search with ctrl-x-f (of course with KDE 3.3 one can also use less-like find with '/'). And mouse gestures are also supported...

  4. Full RSS support scheduled for KDE 3.2 on Content Syndication With RSS · · Score: 2, Informative

Just to let you know: Full featured RSS support ist scheduled for KDE 3.2. See http://dot.kde.org/1049415292/ for more information.
This will include a RSS dcop service providing a powerful XML-RPC interface to www.syndic8.com, a new RSS konqueror sidebar and a rewritten knewsticker.
Currently everything is still under development but already quite useful (if you know how to deal with dcop...). Let's hope we will have everything finished before KDE 3.2.

  5. Re:Why KHTML rather than Gecko? on All-New PowerBooks, Web Browser Featured at Macworld · · Score: 2, Informative

Quoted from an email of Don Melton (Apple) to Dirk Müller (KDE) (http://lists.kde.org/?l=kfm-devel&m=1041970923186 39&w=2)

"The number one goal for developing Safari was to create the fastest web browser on Mac OS X. When we were evaluating technologies over a year ago, KHTML and KJS stood out. Not only were they the basis of an excellent modern and standards compliant web browser, they were also less than 140,000 lines of code. The size of your code and ease of development within that code made it a better choice for us than other open source projects. Your clean design was also a plus. And the small size of your code is a significant reason for our winning startup performance as you can see reflected in the data at http://www.apple.com/safari/ ."

Well, it's not a book but I think ParticleAdventure.org is really great. In fact, it's on of the best site on the net!
Furthermore you should have a look at QuarkDance.org ;-))

  7. Re:Been no fun for me.... on How Hard is it to Manage Different Unices? · · Score: 1

Well, we have here SuSE, RedHat, IRIX, HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, WinNT and maybe some more running on small boxes up to compute servers and large clusters. Of course every system is different but there are sysadmin tools out there which are specifically designed to handle large heterogenous installations like this, even including windows (shameless house advertising: Venus).
Besides that, let's face it: Not every application is available for every OS and you do not want to run Linux on an IBM Regatta server.

I am following the Mozilla project since 2 years now (daily cvs compile, etc.) and I have to admit that I think you are very right, sadly.

I can fully confirm this. I own a GeForce MX and a AMD750 based board.
For me turning off AGP support also helped to bring my Hauppage TV-card back to stability.
