And, last, but not least, if "game carts" count as a port, why not AT motherboard powertails? I remember "rebuilding" my first PC and replacing the AT mobo with a Slot 1 mobo to get a Celeron 300 and overclock the crap out of it. I also remember trying to return my first mobo because I didn't know the power tails could go backwards - not easy when you're 12 and you used Grandma's discover card and paid her with yard work money!

I bought an AT&T Tilt (HTC TyTN II Rebrand) and it came with the Qualcomm MSM7200 chipset that's supposed (and was advertized) to have ATi hardware 3D rendering and hardware video assist. It seems, however, that even though these features were advertised, HTC users weren't given them. Some amateur research says that it's because of a Broadcomm patent lawsuit against Qualcomm with a judgement preventing them from making drivers (but they were allowed to sell what processors were already being made under other contractual obligation).

    * Joe Inventor is going to have to work very, very, very hard to make his jury-rigged Corolla that gets 200MPG into a mass-production-ready, safe, automobile. And that's the easy part. Joe Inventor now has to fund the building of a factory and THEN he can think about building some cars.

    * GM, Ford, Toyota, whoever doesn't give a fuck how much it costs you to drive your car. They don't pay for the gas. Therefore, they're even less likely to do something for the environment.

    * There is a market for illegal drugs. Why does the government regulate THAT? Shouldn't the market just work itself out? Eventually all the addicts will get cancer and die. THERE IT IS!
