Would you rather me spend 10 seconds sending a text or 5 minutes dialing and talking? Because, you know, in my state, it's not illegal to do either, and we have at-fault insurance, so I pay a hundred a month for the right to tell you to, well, fuck off and pay attention to your own driving and not worry about what happens inside my tin can.
No, actually, it happens in XP, and NOT in Vista. Twice I've lost papers I never saved because XP decided to reboot while I ran to the beer store. Vista pops up a message on the notification area and it just stays there to you say Yes or Remind me in $hours.
$1.69/min, $0.50 per SMS sent (incoming still free), $0.0195/KB for data access.
The fortunate thing is that I can call AT&T and ask for a SIM unlock code for free if I'm going overseas in order to use a prepaid SIM. What's better than that is the fact that not only is my phone firmware unlocked (I can install any operating system that supports my phone's radio and CPU), the SIMlock has been removed already!
If I chose to keep my SIM, however, it seems that every provider in Australia gives me access to their network - at 3G service levels!
It "took this long" to catch on because its kinda klutzy.
My PDA phone has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard/and/ a touch-screen with a rather nice finger keyboard. But it still blows. I can type a message on the phone with the keyboard and not take my eyes off the road, but not so on a touch screen. there's no tactile feedback!
Well, I'm and AT&T customer, and I'm quite sure I would have service there, being GSM/UMTS and all. I'd be paying an arm and a leg in roaming charges tho!
You must be a real dick or something, because I know people (even my bartender at my favorite bar!) that every once in a while give me free beer out of the goodness of their hearts. That's Free As In Beer software - they're giving it away, even though it may have value.
Do you wake up every morning at 5AM to walk half a mile to the bus stop to catch a bus that drops you 2 miles from work to work a 12-hour shift while your wife sleeps because she works midnight-8AM?
Not that parents aren't ever the problem. I've seen a man hang out the window of his low-income housing project apartment to cheer on his 5 year old who was kicking the shit out of a 3 year old - and then holler at me for breaking it up. However, MOST of the parents there work such odd hours they can't even be around to cook their kids dinner. So, I spent a fair amount of my time when i was there trying to teach 8-12 year olds how to cook themselves a decent meal.
Now take the military, they have a process in place and when a mistake gets made it gets tracked very thoroughly and the parties responsible are punished - even if this means going far up the chain.
I was kinda miffed about this, but I'm glad they took care of it. I bought their CorePlayer PocketPC that they reverse-engineered the video API on my phone for. I have an HTC TyTn II with a Qualcomm MSM-7200 chipset that has some ATI video stuff in it that can, among other things, play high-res video real smooth on the phone. BUT, Broadcomm sued them, so they weren't allowed to support the chipset anymore - hence not supplying the video overlay drivers. Of course, that didn't stop HTC from selling me a $350 phone that claimed to have video acceleration =( LESSTHAN/rant GREATERTHAN
In good old redneck PA, 30g or less is simple possession, a misdemeanor, and you can get Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (Probation W/O Verdict, basically) the first time.
So what was I supposed to do about the bitch that hit my car last year, never told her insurance company, and the cops wouldn't do shit about it? Sit on my thumb and rotate? Go blow up her car?
I'm serious! fsck(8) them. When I was younger, I used to be a bit of a Metallica fan - but didn't have any of their music on my computer, much less shared, because it was all on tape.
Then, I got banned from Napster by them one day, because they said my username had shared Metallica songs. Perhaps they need to check their disks for corruption!
Lars Ulrich is a fucktwat. Wouldn't get caught dead listening to them by choice anymore, but I keep a pirated discography around as a permanent middle finger to money-obsessed bands.
One day, I visited a USARS to enter DEP. The next weekend, I had to go to MEPS to take an ASVAB and swear in. Two days later, I went back to MEPS to get taken to BT. After BT, I had to go to AIT, and from there, to a CONUS base. Then, I guess our country got pissed at another country, because I got sent OCONUS. I got to drive an ABRAMS tank, and I met my buddy there that shoots a SAW for HHC.
Three days later, I got hit by an IED, and had to go to a VA hospital. Now I've got PTSD.
You'd be acceptable with a society that allows 49% of its residents to be shot or mugged when walking to their vehicle between 12:01AM and 11:59AM?
Fuck man, I hope the hospitals dont generally release patients in the morning, or we're all going to eventually end up stuck in an endless hospital say loop... get out of bed, get mugged, go to hospital overnight. Released in the morning, you're mugged again at the hospital. You have to stay one additional day, being released at 6:30 in the morn.... and so on!
Although I think it's illegal in my state to polygraph a prospective employee, but what company was that, so I can remind myself to A - never try and get a job there, and B - never buy their products?
But Google provides (freely, as in keg) email services for domain names - with the ability to add and drop accounts as you see fit!
RE: Your sig
Gas went up too, but I don't get any more Joules/Liter!

No trataron nunca hablar español,verdad?
El doble negativo es NECESARIO.
Beer isn't free?

Plan9?
For some reason, that just makes me think of someone driving down the road in a Hydrogen-powered Fiat to work at a Texas oil field.
You have that inventory managment system because you're a scientist, not one of the "Anti-Terrorist" cronies.
Ever heard of the My Lai massacre?

I've always seen it written out HHC, and really? I coulda sworn ABRAMS stood for something, but eh, ya never know.
Hey, man, I agree with you... BUT!
:(
Ever put a DVD into a fresh Windows install? No MPEG2 codec, no video!
It can, however, play MP3s.

(And thats all I could think of in 30 seconds)
Yeah, I knew that, but what does having a cell phone have to do with using their ad-supported service?
I only ever see ads on their website, I don't get SMS spam from them (or anyone else for that matter) or in my phone's inbox.

What? I've never seen an ad in my gmail when i use my phone.
Of course, the phone runs Windows Mobile so I don't use the gmail program, I just have it check IMAP every 10 mins, but who's counting?
