So memory guards and other clever debugging mechanisms are not a good idea for code that needs to run quickly?
Any new language out there that is built on that idea, or do I just keep using the COMMON and EQUIVALENCE statements?
I actually missed that story. The most interesting thing about it appears to be the reaction of Danielle Brown at Google: "...expressing views on the natural abilities and characteristics of different genders, as well as whether one can speak freely of these things at Google. And like many of you, I found that it advanced incorrect assumptions about gender. I’m not going to link to it here as it’s not a viewpoint that I or this company endorses, promotes or encourages...."
Google does not approve of linking to stuff that it doesn't endorse promote or encourage? That made me smile.
Readinb the first part of the complaint they appear to claim that their future versions of the linux kernel will violate the gpl2 license. I guess that would make it a declaration of intent rather than an outright breach of contrzct...
Set XmNmwmDecorations to zero in your application, and you have a free floating drawing area. See the Motif programming manual [pdf alert] ftp://ftp.sgi.com/other/motifz...
Obvious. Advertisement is a product that is bought by gullible people who believe the advertising agency is the only business that does not want to sell its own product but rather somebody else's.
Correct, it is well known that in total many more people die from cold than from heat. Obviously the numbers vary per season and location. My point is; we have a starting figure and a trend for both higher and lower than optimal temperatures.
The Nature paper also only shows the right hand side of the story in figure 4. If you honestly think mortality is the problem, there should be a red line somewhere below 0C as well. Assymmetrically linking only 'bad stuff' to 'higher temperature' may be counterproductive if we want to come to a smarter policy (yes, I work in government, and I think it could be done...).
It is no so bad. Look up the definition of Inch from wikipedia "Traditional standards for the exact length of an inch have varied in the past, but since the adoption of the international yard during the 1950s and 1960s it has been based on the metric system and defined as exactly 2.54 cm". So an Inch is just shorthand for "254/10000 m" just as millimeter stands for "1/1000 m".
But, that means you don't have time to prioritize them. So things might actually get fixed for the users in a less than perfect sequence. The horror...
I suppose they think I can 'responsibly apply' this accepted industry practice to other demographics like gender, race, religion etc.?
About 2% of the people you meet outside Africa is Neanderthal. See: https://genographic.nationalge...
I don't think it is acceptable to make an understandable and relevant car analogy.

I think you mean:"Spend and let the Democrats do the taxation bit twice; before and after the spending".
Disclaimer: I have no preference as history later only shows an alternation of spending and taxation anyway.

You almost remember correctly. Do you happen to work for an advertising company? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-...

No discussion, we all now that toast must be buttered on the floor side.
Being a programmer, why not just change the frame window code of your window manager and recompile?
No he's not

Yes, to emphasize it's not Lidl or Aldi for instance, because you would expect them to tattoo foreign avocado's.

Sounds like you have a cheap and functional prioritization algorithm. Perhaps you should consider selling your managers?

You mean, If Rashid were to marry Sundar's aunt, both their villages would be exterminated? Wouldn't that be a stupid assumption about tribalism?
You are aware that '-1 I disagree' is not a moderation option?
