    For hobby, I'll just wait, usually. If I need the boards faster, I use a pro service, with guaranteed delay. Eurocircuits for example is good, fast, and reasonably priced here in Europe.

    a good modern alternative to wire wrap for SMD components :

    Used that for some very fine pitch, nice results for one-offs.

    I recommend experimenting with different wire thickness and insulations (some enameling is made to be burned off when soldering, and there's an optimal diameter around 0,3mm)

    Yes, most times it doesn't make sense any more to make PCBs in house.
    Two exceptions : very fast manufacturing is needed, or for hobby use.
    But even for hobby, it's better to wait 5-30 days and pay the few euros for the boards.

    hmm.
    What do you do about the braking system ? airbags ? speed regulator ? etc etc etc...
    There is useful communication between these systems and "insecure" systems like infotainment.
    You can't just cut that communication. It needs a redesign of the whole network HW architecture first (with each little change costing millions on one platform)

    "small" and "very little fallout" is very relative to the biggest H bombs. This things can still obliterate a city like Hiroshima even if it's only the primer of a much bigger device.

    1 liter of ink in small-volume-abusive-consumer-price : 630 Euro
    1 liter of gold (at room temperature) : 600 000 Euro

    By weight :
    1 kg of ink (roughly assuming a density of 1) : 630 Euro
    1 kg of gold : 31 000 Euro

    These are ballpark figures.

    But yes, for HP or epson investors, redesigning a new cartridge form factor to make more money is worth gold.

    No tow here on a modern diesel. put diesel in the tank, and it starts
    Perhaps on your model you need to push 10x the small pump near your diesel filter to prime the fuel pump one you put back diesel in the tank.
    But yes, it's a bad idea to let a diesel run until dry. It's even more of a bad idea to try to restart when dry.
