What I want to know is HOW they managed to spend so much money and still have everything look so cheesy - especially with all the reused FX. Anyone have any details?
I know I probably shouldn't reply to this troll, but look at it this way: would you rather have be able to live and have some small increased risk of cancer (if it's even true), or just DIE because your heart has stopped working?
I know I'd pick the artificial heart any day. But maybe you just like dying. Some people are that way, I guess.:)
It's not like this radioactive material is undergoing fission or fusion and creating all sorts of nasty stuff - it's decaying normally, the same as it would if it were still in the ground. And it's probably not enough to harm anyone anyway.
Well, I never connected KIllustrator and Adobe Illustrator at all - I thought it was just a descriptive name. What else could you call it? CoolVectorDrawingProgram?
I wish you were joking, but i'm afraid you probably aren't - HOW ON EARTH could anyone mix up Froot Loops and music?
Shakespeare was right.

And what's so bad about the communist manifesto? I don't think anyone has a real problem with the ideas presented in it, it's just in practice it leads to major suckage. Are you scared because the Free Software movement is a workable form of the Communist ideal?
Heh... where I'm working right now (the Physics dept. at Kent State) we're using an LSI-11 (upgraded from a PDP-11) for data acquisition, and that thing is LOUD and HOT. The A/C can't keep up with it - it's always 80 degrees in that room (which happens to be where I work... grr). Let me tell you, it was NO fun when the steam line broke so there was no A/C...
Old computers aren't all they're cracked up to be - they can be just a little too noisy and hot.
Yuppers - you've hit it on the head. For some reason RPM-based systems seem to be unable to do a decent upgrade, unlike deb-based systems. I used RH 5.2, 6.0, and 6.1 before switching to Debian, and had to reinstall for each upgrade. Granted, each one wsa nice and flashy at first, but using it was a real drag.
On one install I went from slink to potato to woody with no problems at all - ran for more than two years with no problems, until I upgraded and scrapped the box.
At work I run Mandrake 8, and while it is a very nice system, again upgrades (even just security patches) are a nightmare - I essentially have to go to the mirrors and download the rpms and install by hand, since Mandrake-Update doesn't work with a hoot.
It's majorly broken in 8.0 as well - I can usually install software, but upgrading is terrible - it downloads hundreds of MB's (fortunately I'm at a uni and have a fast connex), then complains because it's missing some lib.
As a desktop system Mdk 8 is fine - just don't try to update it, even from the official security update site.
Dang... I was going to post the same thing. Beat me to it.:)
For those of you who didn't pay attention in school *cough*CmdrTaco*cough*, "effect", when used as a verb, means "bring about" or "cause", whereas "affect" means "change" or "alter".
When something is affected, the act of affecting has an effect on said thing.
I like your sig -- except shouldn't that be "proscripti" instead of "proscript"?
For those who don't know Latin, it is supposed to say "When catapults are outlawed, only outlaws will have catapults."

Do you really think that goatse.cx is worth preserving? How about 50 zillion porn sites? I can see preserving those sites which are genuinely interesting, but EVERYTHING is a bit much.
Besides, do we want historians of the future thinking we're all perverts obsessed with some freak's butt?
I think you hit the nail on the head. How come there's a CS course at my school (Kent State, no, we don't shoot students here any more:) called 'Software Engineering'? I guess the guys in the dept. don't know what they're talking about.
Am I the only one who finds using any vi aside from vim terribly painful? Don't get me wrong - I love vim. It's just that all other vi's seem terribly broken by comparison.
Probably the same place they get all their antimatter from... it doesn't grow on trees, you know ;).

What's X-Windows? There's no such thing. From 'man X':
The X Consortium requests that the following names be used when referring to this software:
X
X Window System
X Version 11
X Window System, Version 11
X11
Check your facts before you post.
As long as it's not based on the average slashdot user - then it would be obsessed with goatse.cx.
I was thinking the same thing, except that it would really confuse people (what??? is it a light bulb or a drawing program?).
But that's not the same at all. Dodge doesn't describe anything about what it is. You can't say the same about Adobe/K Illustrator.
Well, I never connected KIllustrator and Adobe Illustrator at all - I thought it was just a descriptive name. What else could you call it? CoolVectorDrawingProgram?

Sounds sorta like Apple - everybody says MacOS is great, and they have new features, but very few ppl actually use it... :)

Maybe the slaves were in a union - I mean, take a look at how much work road workers do? Seems to me they just sit around most of the time...
That could also explain why it took 40 years to build a pyramid! Maybe I'm on to something here....

Really? I thought it was a pretty transparent troll myself.

duh... that should be "little 'o'".
