I couldn't agree more. I think that we sould just admit that Windows NT is better on High End Hardware (for now,) and that Linux is better on lower end hardware. Benchmarks don't mean shit, stability and price/performance is what matters.
BOY! When I was your age I had been using linux for two years. I can't program, I just know how to read, and I decided to get of my lazy ass and learn linux because I figured it couldn't be any worse then Windows. People like linux because it does look better the windows, you just can't use the preinstalled setup with the window manager. Just like everytime I install windows on my machine to use my scanner, I always change the coloring scheme to Rainy day, delete the recycle bin, move all the folders such as games, system tools etc out of applications and move them to the main programs menu. I would do more but I can't. Your problem is your just plain lazy, and your a windows whore.
Oh and I am now 17 and I look back and say damn, back in the day I didn't know shit about linux, but I'm glad I'm stuck with it because now I don't have to reboot at least once and day. I also like not wasting 100 megs for my Operating System. I can only imagine how many megs Windows2k takes up.

KDE is the ugliest think I have every seen in my life, and god knows I have seen some ugly things since I goto public school. He spoke on the history of GNU and such, and it was very intresting and informative. He provids very good examples for what he is talking about.

I'm running a AMD K-6.2 350 at 100mhz bus, I bought it the week before christmas and I love. It was dirt cheap at $138. I just wish because it was so cheap I could have dual processers. Does any one know if the K-7 will be able to do SMP? Also any Ideas on the starting price. I would guess around $300 but I'm probably totally wrong.

I cab explain a bit, this is what I have heard anyway.
Apple won't tell BeOS the information on their G3 computers, not just the processer. So Because this company is using apples clones, they can. However the systemboard probably won't take use of the G3 the way the apple board does. BeOS can port them selves to other clone apple boards. It like why one a apple clone the computer can boot straight into be with out having that damn smiling mac. But on real apples, non-clones that is you have to have boot loader for the OS.
I would love to buy BEOS. I have seen it used multiple times, and it's a beautiful os. However I was told I can't run BEOS because I have a Super Socket 7 MotherBoard.
Is this true? If so how soon will BE come out with a newer version so that it does support it?
Unless your a insane speed demon you don't need a 4,000 to 5,000 dollar G4 laptop. Yes x86 laptops run hot as hell so thats why you sould by a strong arm laptop, a AMD laptop or for 5,000 dollars you might as well just by a Net Winde, a Flat Color LCD monitor and hook it up to a small recharagable battery pack. That would probably only cost you around $3,000. I can't think of any practicle reason for having that much power in a laptop and spending that much money on it.
Sure Apple's processors err IBM and Motorola's process are better then x86's but price/preformance ratio they don't even come close.
I just built my new box in December, Its a AMD K-6.2 350, with the 100mhz bus, 4.3 Gig Ultra IDE HD, STB velocity 128 8meg agp, Voodoo2 car, 64 megs of ram, Sound Blaster AWE 64, NE2000 KTI pci network car, 56k Modem, 32x CDROM,floppy and full tower case for under 1000. (All parts where wholesale.) Add my monitor to that and it cost the same as my best friends new IMac. Even he agrees that my system is a hell of alot faster and the graphics look better then his Imac and all for the same price.
Macs are great people, their hardware kicks ass, its just way to expensive and after you run BE and MacOS you will see a diffrence. It like watching Windows compaired to Linux on a x86 machine. MacOS either dosen't take full advantage of the hardware or just isn't optmized as well.
If macs ever get comparable to x86 prices and I can build my own I will and I'll run BE and Linux, but right now I don't have that kind of money to waste.

I had cheistry last year (High school.) And the reason Magnesium is flammable is that it is unstable. I'm sure that this is some sort of alloy in which case it kicks ass. Many sports car parts are magnesium, so are alot bicycle frames.
You have to get unstable Magnesium such as a magensium ribbon and then hold up a blow torch or some sort of butane lighter to it. It burns green I beleive and you have to hold it in the flame for a while. When it does burn however if you look at it direclty and are close it will scar your corena or retnea or somthing.
