I don't know what experinces you have had with the red cross but everything I've heard about them (except for their TV Commercials), says that their a money grubbing instution that takes advantage of Natural Disators.
First Off I have been told by many people in the medical profession that when you donate blood to the red cross they sell it and make quite a large profit off of it.
Another thing which I have been told many time is that when you are a Volunteer like my grandad was and they show you reciving drinks, food etc as a volunteer they charge you high prices for them. Of course they don't show that on T.V.
It isn't like the red cross needs to rasie that much money. Everything the recive are donation and they don't pay volunteers for their time. I will be the first to admit that the money they make probably dosen't go into the pockets of the heads of the companys but would some one please explain to me where it does go then?
I don't really know if the other stuff I have heard about them is true so I won't bothering posting it. But I beleive that those two things among themselves are bad enough.
I have a friend who is 18 and has a projector and a Dreamcast hooked up to it. The projector is decent quality. He use to have a N64 and Computer hooked up to it. The image quality is unreal. Playing games on that thing high or on LSD is fucked up. Watching movies is also so much better. He just need to buy DSS.
I'm the only one in a high school of 1,600 that runs linux. I also am on the swim team and I'm not tooting my own horn but I'm damn good for a season swimmer. I use to be able to bench 175, that was when I weighed 140, I think I can do pretty close to that now. However I weigh ten pounds more because of those damn summer munchies.:) I also smoke weed religously. So their you go, I use linux, I'm athletic and I love drugs!
The WinNT would have to be a Sumo (sp?) westler. Linux would have to be young and powerful as fuck as well as having great endurance. Since endurance=uptime. heheh.
Or High School Sysadmin is a dumbass. I seriously think that I know more then he does. (Or at least could make the network run better/more efficent at a cheaper cost. That also goes for the IS department at the school board. I have been to a begining WINNT class where their where 2 people from the school board IS team. My friend had a MCSE class with 1 person from the school board. Any my other friend who dropped outta high school went to work for the school board and said they are idot's. My goal for this year is to hack our pitiful webpage but I'm going to have to learn more about WinNT before I do that.I suppose I could just be a script kiddie and download somthing off rootshell, but that just wouldn't be as fun. Their also using the Netscape web server, I have no idea what its called, as well as the proxy, firewall combo.
Your funny, their are no/little computers in Public Schools. Espically in a country like this. Here in America my school only has 10 computers that students can use at any time. Their are some old ps/2 for typing class etc, however 1,600 students goto my school.

I was just thinking about how fun it would be to have a mini herf gun and when your class goes to the computer lab or your teacher starts putting grades in the computer to use it. A friend of mine who ended up dropping out wrote a program that would enable to restart computers on a Novell network. It was quite funny to see people's computer reboot when they where in the middle of typing somthing.
I think that this is a great idea. I recently meet a foriegn exchange student from Yogosloviva. He said that in 6th grade you could start taking programing classes their. They first learned pascal and then could goto C. Here in America for at least the Florida Education system you can't have typing classes until 8th grade. And Practical computer skills are tought in 9th. I'm a Senior in high school and we are still using PS2's. The only internet access we have is on Imacs, and their are only like 10 for a school of 1600.
The American education system sucks. They could have at least taught me how to spell decently.
I don't really think that not having all the source code is obscurity. If they didn't allow for exploits to be posted etc, that would be obscurity. I agree totally with open source, but if a person has the source code, it's alot eaiser to find exploits then if a person dosen't. Or at least that is my experince.
Sure it's slow as hell right now, and unstable. But think of Linux 4 years ago. As machines become faster, java will also be more stable. Your are also showing your ignorance of java by saying that java applets, are java.
Java sucks and will probably always suck on computers. But on imbeded devices such as small NC's and set top boxes your crazy if you would take WinCE over java. Your need to read a bit more about java before your open your mouth, and show the world your ignorance.
I think either most of you are confused or I am (it's probably me.) I think that the hard drive case etc is plastic. Not the actuall platter. That wouldn't make any sense, because then platter needs to be metal in order for the heads to read/write data to it since it works by electromagntism. Maybe their just going to coat the plastic platters with some sort of metal coating. Would some one please set me straight here.
Its always fun to laugh at the puking people that can't control their alcholic intake. If they don't know how to drink resposibly then they shouldn't be their. Usally I don't arive to a party tell close to midnight. Thats when stuff gets going.

Even though our elected leaders elect people to the Justice System, who they are going to elect to the Justice System is never a campaign issue. Americans care more about themselves such as SS, Welfare and Tax Cuts. Most Americans have the mentallity of the person that wrote this comment. Which is I'm not a criminal I souldn't care.
And rember a jury is composed of people who are too stupid to get out of Jury Duty. I think that about sums it up. If you have a bright Idea of how we can change the system that actaully will make a diffrence please enlighten us all.

Never did I actually agree with the damages being that high considering that none of the source code he stole is currently used to day, besides the source code which sun is now giving away. I actually haven't heard anything on CNN about Kevin because I don't think they put anything on about him just like the rest of the Main stream media. I did however read takedown (horribly written.) And Online with Kevin Mitnick as well as hnn, 2600 and the free kevin page. I don't know if I belive that shit about him just getting everything of Usenet or their would be a hell of alot more damage done by script kiddes that have gotten passwords of usenet. Kevin was not a script kiddie. And since the damages he casued to software companys was over 1 million (as reported by the compaines them selves.) And since any thing over 500 dollars is Grand theft he wasn't a petty theft either.
Kevin had/s skills, some of the hacks he did on compaines the companies and goverment still don't know how he did. Why don't you research a bit more before you go flapping your mouth any making your self look like a moron.
However I do think that Kevin should be punished for his crimes. I don't think that the damages where over 1 million. I beleive that he should just be sentenced to time served and be put on probation for quite a long time. But that is not for me or any one else to decide it is for a court of law to chose. That is the way the American Justice system works and if you don't like it move to another country.

I have 5 Machines at home that combined are probably faster then every computer at school that
stundents are allowed to use.

Its almost a month since 1.08 q3test has been released, and they still don't have a linux port. WTF?!?!?!??! I'm going threw quake3 withdrawl.
