    if he was trying to sell his product in the United
    States then yes he is commiting an illegal act
    and the jail time could have been justified.

    However, he was merely speaking at a hacker's

    yeah this is true.

    PayPal offers absolutely no protection for
    international clients. I'm canadian and have
    a paypal account too.

    luckily for me, all of my transactions thus
    far have went very well.

    though I'm getting really pissed off that I can't
    send money to a personal account from my premier
    account because personal accounts can no longer
    accept money from a credit card.

    well WTF, I'm Canadian, its not like I'm gonna
    have a US bank account now will I?

    Personally I think his voice actor doesn't
    do him justice and I would prefer the hearing
    him in Japanese.

    On the other hand, one of the voice actresses
    for the female guests on the panel has got the
    sexiest voice I have ever heard. :)

    No... you've got to be kidding me...

    Stop bitching about MS. The real battles
    are against the DMCA, SDMI, the SSSCA and other
    bogus attempt at oppression that the RIAA
    and MPAA dream up of.

    Everyone is so quick to point out MS's faults
    but no one even mentions the good that MS
    has done. You may not like it, but MS has
    given the IT industry exactly what they needed,
    a common platform for applications development.

    Without MS around, companies would be losing
    tons of money trying to support every concievable,
    marketable platform out there. Without MS,
    the whole drive for Linux & Star/OpenOffice might
    not have ever happened.

    The world needs a Microsoft. Whether they play
    the devil or the saint, Microsoft serves a
    purpose.

    I don't particularly see any need to upgrade
    to 7.0, 7.1 or 7.2 for that matter.

    sure, its more work and it might
    cost a little more.. but dump
    the right distro of *nix or BSD
    on it and you get web, mail,
    shell and ftp servers for free.

    run samba and you get an internal
    file server for free too.

    apps and the fact that I know how
    to program is Java leaves me
    with a fallback :)

    exactly.. I didn't know what all the
    hoopla was about. The key words in
    the patent were "point of sale"

    No exchange of cash, no sale -> no
    patent infringement.
