OK, so here's the challenge to SlashDot readers. You propose a scheme that gives Fair Use rights to broadcast programming without enabling a user to broadcast their ill gotten gains to everyone on the internet who chooses to receive it.
The original brodcast came over the air, for free, to everyone within range of the transmitter. I would consider that a free gift. If it is broadcast into my house, I can do what I want with it.
If the content producers don't want their stuff recorded or used by me, they souldnt't broadcast it into my house.
The airwaves belong to the people, not the broadcasters.
It's amazing that the U.S. Senate is pushing this forward. They are supposed to represent the people of this country. I bet the majority of the people would be against this copy protection crap if they really knew the whole story. They would be suprised how much control the MPAA-and-company have over 'our' senators.
Check the congressional record of your senator and vote them out if they support this crap.
I would have cried if I had to use a palm pilot during the 2 8 hour PE exams.
Also the testing a calculator goes through to insure accuracy, precision, and correctenss are probably much higher. This is pretty important for some people.
I agree. I have both a 12c and a 48gx. The 48gx is great for my engineering work, but while getting my MBA, the 12c was faster/easier with the financial calcs.
I even used the 12c on the PE exam for the finacial problems. Saved alot of time.
The Duke boys never used guns, as they were on probation. In fact I don't think guns were ever fired by anyone on the show. There were alot of car crashes though and at least one sick a$$ jump per episode.
I've been tinkering with FreeBSD and Linux, and in my opinion the terminal, while powerful & useful, does not give any hints to newbs trying to find some function or another. A gui, if designed well, gives hints to the user as to where to start poking around.
Man pages don't cut it if you don't know the command you are looking for.
There is something good to be said about right clicking on something and getting a list of things that are applicable to that object.
Typically the SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems for these types of facilities can be run with W2K/XP succesfully. These systems are generally for reporting and collecting information. The underlying control systems generally have more robust OS/networking.
That system is called the Martingale system. It's major drawback is when you go on a deep losing streak. The streak will eventually happen and you will loose big time. It all depends on the depth of your pockets, and the size of your initial starting bet.
I used to live up the block from a coin op video game warehouse. One of the guys had a custom painted van with the graphics from the Fireball game on the sides. Looked pretty sharp. I think he was the creator or artist.
Oh no I won't
You said exactly what I was thinking. I hope they mode you up more!
or how about this...
IF (THOPT) 5650,1960,1840
...old school arithmetic if statments
But what if all I want to do is publish a web page?
I think the only reason the /. moderation system works is because of the large userbase. Most blogs don't have the kind of traffic /. gets.
I'm not a thief.
I taped it and watched it over many times, after editing out the commercials. I then invited my friends over for a party and watched it with them.
It's called fair use.
If they wanted to protect it so much, they should not have broadcast it to everyone.

Vote!
"Windows does when it comes to software that has been available for Windows longer? Actually, the GUI version of Word was available on the Mac first.
I too like this program (LeechFTP)
Because a calculator is the right tool sometimes.

The 12c is a great calc for what it does.
I will not say that VB is better than Java, but in certain situations VB works well. It is relatively fast and makes simple programs simple.
Please don't dis VB. There is a large comunity of developers who use it, and generalizing that they are all idiots is, well, stupid.
The gameplay is what made CS a great game. Well thought out maps also add to the greatness of this game.
Fancy graphics do not a great game make.
Playing with a game pad will stink though.

Electric water heaters are very efficient, but it's the electricity that cost an arm and a leg compared to gas.

The games not out yet and I'm already owned
"one with a HUGE high-bypass jet engine"
I'd be supprised if you could get a jet engine to work in an atmosphere with little oxygen.
"quake 3 was developed for linux first, remember?"
I don't think so, but I may be wrong.
Try ctrl-shift-F10
Sorry to burst your bubble.
I was dissapointed by the fact that I suck so bad at it when I go online. :(
