Well, you got the cheapest laptop the company has to offer, one that was designed before vista was released. Vostros 14, 15 and 1700 are of a never generation and works a bit better. You know, centrino, parts that are extensively tested for compatibility with each other.
You are now assuming that the entire authentication process stays unchanged, and why would it with something completely new? How about an authentication server? Bob logs in on your computer. Your computer sends Bob's doodle to the authentication server which replies if it is Bob or not. Let Bob log in with his own doodle, associated with his account. Thats not even a new technology, kerberos works kinda that way.
Lasers and inkjets are designed for different stuff. One for printing massive amounts of text quickly, the other does colours great. I'd still rather print my photos on a early '90s inkjet.
GIMP and Photoshop does the same thing. Image manipulation, restoring and preparing. And they do it equally good. Some minor usability issues aside. Your analogy does not still compute.
Your analogy is confusing. Which one is better, the laser or the inkjet? Because, I see myself rather using an old inkjet than a new laser when I print any image.
I have an nvidia 8600 on a P35 motherboard. Tried 4 different distros, each crashed in the installation. Then I tried a text-based installer. Works fine.
That argument is getting a bit dated. Linux is used more and more as servers. More processing power, more bandwidth and not so competent administrators. I know a lot of machines sitting un-updated on 100mbit or faster. They have been sitting for years serving as storage for irc logs, simpsons episodes and funny pictures. Still they are not part of any botnets.
Nope, they just untwirled it. Open the image in photoshop, center a selection in the middle of the face, filter -> distort -> twirl, amount to -999, and there ya go.
You tried once? Professionals do that easily. Changing a lightning in a picture is not hard. If you have an evenly lit face, it is very easy to shade and highlight. Even if half of the face is obscured by darkness, it is possible to mirror the face to fill out the missing part. Not exactly rocket science.
That's because there is no evidence. But it shouldn't stop you from using common sense. I mean, we chug out a lot of stuff in the atmosphere that may or may not cause global warming and cancer in babies. We do not precicely know what will happen, but we can use common sense and come to the conclusion that huge amounts of stuff in the atmosphere will do something. It may be cooling down the planet for all I care, but still I'm against polluting, since we cannot be sure what exactly will happen.
I mean, I could mix up some nasty stuff that has never been injected into a human, and inject it into you. It not dangerous, right? It has never harmed a human before... It could give you superpowers or kill you, we do not know. But there are no evidence to either side, so let's do it!
Oh, the network has been redesigned. This fancy new IPv6 thingy, that cannot be fully disabled. Not even with regedit. Leads to interesting problems such as getting an IPv4 IP-adress, but IPv6 address to the nameserver.
Yeah, I've also seen Vista give me an IPv6 address with a % sign in it. Don't ask me. I do not know.
You fail math. Angles are indeed dimensionless. But someone says an angle is 90, it can be interpreted in two ways. The regular 90 degree right angle. Or a bit over 14 complete revolutions + some odd degrees, if we were talking about radians.
Yes. Alcohol makes you forget things temporarily. It all comes back the day after. Makes you want to drink more, to forget again. But in countries not run by pharmaceutical companies, psychiatrists can combine medication and therapy to actually cure.
You ever heard about inertia? Stopping and reversing the blades requires a lot of energy. I learned the concept of inertia when I got my first gearless tricycle at the age of 3, and nearly broke my leg when suddenly trying to brake and the pedals kept on turning.

Same way as before cell phones. How did you ever manage 10 years ago when there were no cell phones?

.monospacefont {
font-family: Calibri, monospace;
}
Should break pages requiring mono-spaced fonts for only vista users. Making new "standards" go both ways.
What is a sick day? You actually have a limit on how much you can be sick a year?
Nope, they just untwirled it.

Yes, but 25kV @ 1 amp is 25kW. Enough for a couple of houses, but not enough for an electric train. Especially not for maglevs.
Electronics in europe.
A certain 24" LCD-screen is 971 euros in europe.
In USA the exact same model is 669 dollars, which equals 477 euros.
Nope. You are supposed to miss the ground when you fall.

So you assert that the natural laws are fully and completely documented?
I know scientists that would give both their testicles for that book.

Not really. I'm sure that I'm way past two hundred re-installs :)
It's the marketing department. Those people simply fail.

That one makes you feel dull, no real purpose in that. Try a happy drug instead.

Much more fun would be a deathmatch between the leaders. I'd love to see USA declare war on Finland and see Bush get whipped by an angry old lady.
> You take all your photos within 10 feet of your computer? I'd suggest your working practices are somewhat atypical...
Studio work?
Several thousand pictures a day in a single room.
