Finding things in your carry-on luggage is much harder than finding it on a person. If I were to smuggle a bomb on a plane, I would do it in a carry on item anyway, Much harder to prove it was yours if you got caught.

I have never had an cell phone related issue when driving. All the studies I have seen related to cell phones have distorted things by making people do math, repeat patterns or speed runs through cones. They never give the person the option to stop talking. I think the short answer is that when not used the visual nerves and processing are repurposed. If you live in complete darkeness for many years (not using these nerves) they can go domant and not useable even if there is nothing mechanically wrong with the eyes.

so there seems to be two effects here. The retina stops detecting light and thus stops sending signals. The nerves stop being used. the brain stops paying attention to the nerves. If the signals are started again but too late, they are ignored. This is how I understand the full article after a breif skim.

That was my first thought as well, But the issue turns on how you translate the requirement from english to code. I think most people would think it means something like the following:

xxxxDFGxx being the same as xxDFGxxxx (where x is a random lowercase character). Hashing algorythms would not catch this.

I do not think you could make a password checker that would be able to dissallow the above without keeping non hashed information of some sort. One could keep a copy of the old password _after_ it was changed but that is still not a good idea. (I could probably could software patent that idea, but it is still a bad idea)

Most stated (in English) password rules are not coded as stated to avoid keeping records of old passwords. Go ahead and try to figure out my sequence based on old hashes.

PS: Almost everywhere large that I have worked in the past few years that have had password rules about complexity and such. Then they come up with shared passwords that barely meet the rules. In some cases it was almost like you had a contest to see what the easiest to guess password you could think up that met the rules. Things like #Servername1

Ok a standard home router has 2 interfaces, one to the WAN (the ISP) the other to the LAN. Each of these has a unique MAC address.

The WAN is known by the ISP and hopefully is not used in this example as it would mean he has no clue. (Google would not know it I hope as it should only be know if you actually connect). It could be used for location services to some extent, but the wireless angle would be a red herring

The other MAC address is for the LAN. You do not need to crack the router to get it as the local machine must have it. Just do an arp -a at a command prompt.

Unless Java script is blocked from getting this info. (I do not do Java script coding at that level in Windows)

I also thought Google tossed encrypted packet, so only people who did not care would be vulnerable.
