Where did you get your Sig or did you come up with it? I would like to make/have a t-shirt with that on it but I do not want to steal a quote from someone.
Must be some sort of firm policy or they will be accused of selective policy.
Also, "Degrade" implies slow and gradual steps to me. How can this be done? Slowly randomly corrupt it?
Imagine the programing updates. These fields can be trusted if d_update 6 but otherwise...
A staged firm policy I could see. But if you miss a deadline or get ahead, then the lawyers eat you up. Also backups? Keep it, or nuke it. Allow access control to increase perhaps.
Power. My kindle is never turned off unless I am on a plane and required to do so. it lasts for weeks if the radio is off and days if not.
The screen is also nicer to the eyes.
Please people, do not slam these displays unless you have spent an hour reading from one. Many people refuse to look at them as they think they are just black and white PCs or LCD displays.
my kindle will let me read many books if I keep the wireless off. I can also charge and read at the same time.
If you do not watch your bags at the airport you have other problems. (hint, generally they take the whole bag and trash the rest)
Good luck at the bookstore asking for a book on your selected paper, and asking for it not to be shipped by truck
I can get public domain books with very little impact to the enviroment and email them to friends and family. Also read things without spending weeks looking for them. Many books for the Kindle and Nook are free. (Numerically the majority of titles are free, I beleive, but the new stuff is not)
My kindle account can be used on up to five devices. I have to trust the person with the account not to just buy stuff wildly, but we all have access to everything bought.
AND...
I can change font size/have it read to me.
eBooks are alergen free and the bindings do not dry out.
I agree with this. I think the only thing that makes sense (if it is even possible) is some sort of laser/radiation pulse that would cook the electronics on the sat without causing debris.
I would guess the millitary has a way of doing this, but it is probably quite classified and you would in theory need permission of the owner.
The impactor buries itself in the ground. then explodes. The explosion peals back the layers and stacks them upside down outside the crater like a shattered layer cake. They are easier to get to on the outside. That is why all the Apollo astronauts came to the crater to study geology.
I was at the airport waiting to give a vistor a ride. There had been a story on the news the night before about some new device that scans your hands for explosive residue. It had some sort of pad that was wiped over the skin.I wanted to know if the device uses a fluid because of allergies.
It was very slow at the moment and because there was a bored TSA employee sitting at a station to make sure nobody went the wrong way at security, I walked up to her and asked about the device.
She first said it did not exist, then told me she knew all about it and why did I want to know. I talked to her calmly for about 10 minutes and discovered she had no clue but was willing to lie to me.
I went back to wait. After a bit I walked to the display boards to see flight status again. when I turned around I was surounded by police.
It was not fun being questioned for 30 minutes just for asking simple nice questions.
When I was in 10th grade we collected pond water samples. the next day we took samples of the water and put them under a microscope.
I asked the teacher if I could have a slide with a slight well in it. Because I was a nerd he loaned me one.
I prepared my slide and showed him what I had found. There were a few fresh water hydra on the sides of the collection jars. They are tiny animals about 30 cells total. I could pick them off the walls with a pipette and put them on the slide.
He asked me how i found it. I told him that I could see them and wanted to see it closer. I do not think he belived me.
It wasn't till years later that I realized that they could not see it at all except perhaps as a dot. I could see the arms with unaided eyes
They may also be firewalled away from everything not local and patched manually. you still want to keep them up to date, but you control what and when they get these updates.
Many people think that the best time to look at the moon is when it is full. This is the worst time to use a telescope other than when it is cloudy. It is washed out and flat. Try with no more than 1/2 moon then you can see the rough surface due to the shadows. It is worth looking at when full but far better otherwise
The next most important thing is to practice where you will be setting up. You need to be familiar with the sky. Find the planets beforehand so you can point out the ones that are up and some of the major constellations. Remember planets move around a bit as well. If you are some where that is humid, it can be helpful to have a bright spotlight. You can point out locations in the sky. Show them where the Zodiac is (the constellations that the sun rises in and the planets move through). Jupiter and Saturn are also good. If clear and dark enough you can show them the milky way.
Lastly I would hope you have a plan of what to say. I talk about Galileo and the arguments that were being made about the sky before the telescope was pointed at the sky. The moon was thought to be basically featureless and round. Point out the moon and ask them to look at it for a minute. No one had seen a much better view than you are seeing now. Someone (probably Galileo) first pointed a telescope at the moon and then saw this Prepare for a gasp when they look.
Everything went around the earth, then Jupiter, “see the little dots they move around” and you can see this from night to night in a pattern
One more thing. if your scope does not have a motor mount you will need to frequently move it to make up for the turning of the earth. Also people will bump it and the next person will see nothing but black. This is tricky as they will not tell you if they do not see anything.
Many years ago I was going to have jaw surgery. I was going to be wired shut for about seven weeks. They told me to bring a paper tablet and a pen. I went to the toy store to pick up one of the pads called magic slates in the midwest. I came across a new toy called a Magna Doodle.
This is two sheets of plastic with white oil and iron fillings (or something similar) you had a magnetic wand and the back has a wide magnet.
When you write on the surface with the wand the dark particals move to the front and turn it dark and the slider on the bottom wipes it back out.
The doctors/nurses had never seen one and would borrow it at the start of each shift and show it at the daily meetings.
Not pressure sensitive, but I think it does most everything else the board does
in windows XP SP2 use accessorys => system tools => wireless network setup wizard (or something like that) Of course if you have some wireless network adapters installed using the vendors software, the vendor may have broken this
In Windows 7 Control panel => network and sharing center => Manage wireless networks (off to left side of screen) => add near the top of the window and follow the prompts
I think there are basicly two types of phones (some are user configurable) Ones that get time from the network only, and ones that keep there own clock.
The nice thing about the network phones is the time is always accurate to the second and resets based on time zone when you power it up after a flight or when you cross a border. Every phone like this I have owned eventually looses track when out of range.
The other type seem to have an internal clock and have to be changed after flights and such.
My Kindle however, seems to use the network when in range but keeps track itself when out of range.
A patent has to be novel and new at the time it is submitted.
The inventor "needs" to ensure that the invention is not in use currently or in the past
Then it is written up and sent to the patent office. They can at that point start marking items using the invention Pat Pending (might not be required any more)
The patent office looks for prior art as well but only gets money if they approve it. So they are motiveated to do so.
Once approved the patent holder can sue anyone using the invention. They get to choose where to sue (usually west Texas as they have a history of favoring patent holders)
If you can prove prior art when being sued the patent is invalidated.
This is over simplified and thus has some errors. Patent troll companies have also played games with the system by filing a very general patent establishing a date and then resubmitting the patent later with updates.
So no you can not discover that no one has patented the wheel, get a patent on it and own the world. (ps someone did patent the wheel as a joke IIRC)
Ah... but completely empty is different. I do not carry them through in my hand, I just pop them in my laptop case or my jacket. They generally hand inspect my laptop case anyway as I have more than the usual amount/type of junk in it. They see it is empty and go on.
That said, the rules of security theater are not written down in the script.

What does this mean?
If something goes into public domain, I republish it. (clean up the spelling and reformat it) who now has rights?
They are idiots
Most ISPs require plain text passwords for non webmail.
Open windows, connect to open network, open Outlook...
Everything you need is broadcast for sniffing I have been told. (I need to check this sometime)
Should not be default setup but it is and many ISPs do not support other setups.
But then you're pitting one federal law against the other. Who wins?

Conflicting laws are new?

Go to Metor Crater in Arizona and take the tour.

Go here read the geology section

by definition the second phrase eliminates any remaining use cases after the count down finishes.

Generally it is not that much of a pain.
The security anoyances of flying to San Francisco from here are less than the anoyances of trying to find a halfway clean restroom on the way. :-)

When the authorities have requested copies of patrons borrowing records, the libraries almost always refuse to provide it without a search warrant!

perhaps this counts. if the fixed periodic nature is a problem, just be a little lazy when putting things on the servers. ;-)
I am not a laywer (INAL)
