I beg to differ. Someone who specializes in design for human computer interaction (HCI) would most certainly relate to GUI design, maybe not specifically, but absolutely inclusive to the domain.
My problem with this is the danger still lies in between a protected network and the internet, you can do all types of malicious tricks (ettercap) and redirect any traffic if you manage to take control over a machine on the middle network.
The original premise was that an x86 release for generic x86 hardware (non Apple firmware) was already released. This however turned out to be a hoax. I doubt Apple is trying to make a revolution giving an OS away.
If you are not attached to PocketPC you may want to try Familiar Linux, I am sure you could find a solution there as most existing software can be compiled to run on the StrongARM chip. Although not for the faint of heart it is the best way to make use of the features of the PocketPC.

Well posted email, threaded properly is much better and historically accurate then one single message. Go the step further, digitally sign your documents, then you will have the best, most usable archive.
I have a Sony VAIO with the memory stick reader working. I don't know about a USB reader, but this is known as a USB-SCSI device try enabling USB if you haven't already and enable Generic SCSI Emulation. If this doesn't work you may be SOL.
Good Luck.
Yes but this one goes to 11.
well, now, anyone can put what ever they want in to open source... even backdoors for outside access.
Oh, my point; this has nothing to do with software, its policy.

I personally like the Enigmail plugin for OpenPGP support in the browser. Easy encryption for the masses.

I just tell people I'm a disgruntled computer admin. They don't seem to get it... as it's not much of a change from daily life.
Code Red wasn't a virus. Ever hear of the Morris Worm?
The second and third point here I think are most important. Having just set up a ssl/tls mail server running qmail-ldap.
It comforts me to know remote users/roaming users don't have their passwords floating around plaintext.
It's also very easy for a box in promisc can grab any email on the segment that someone can wedge one in legit or other wise.
