You are missing the money. Because of the changes to the broadcast spectrum by changing all broadcasts over to digital, they reclaim large portions of the UHF band to sell to public safety and wireless services companies. This has nothing really to do with HDTV, it is more with the more effective broadcast medium being digital rather than analog.
as an added bonus, I get my parcel faster and I will know the full amount I have to pay up front instead of on delivery.
*BBUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZ* Wrong again. The VAT to be collected is only on electronic items, not the big rubber dildos you import from California. You still need to pay duties AND VAT on those when you pick them up. What it does mean is that your MP3 that you just purchased from apple.com for $0.99 just became $1.20 and some fat, lazy, beer drinking American is going to take your VAT and laugh at the EU. Your countries are never going to see any of that tax money collected. What are you going to do, send France after us?
You don't appear to understand the tax. You, if you are in the USA, will not have to pay this tax. You mean collect it. Also, if you are a small trader, this doesn't apply to you. It only applies to big companies.
So, I don't have to pay it, just collect it? So I can collect a 20% tax on merchandise and put it in my pocket? Right on.. Sign me up. Also, where in the article did you get that only big companies are subject to this foriegn law? It seems that big companies are the ones that would benefit from this. They are the ones that can afford the paperwork to start a shell company in United States of Europe and start collecting the taxes for your imperial leadership.
A look at their website shows that I cannot get a copy of "Lindows" for less than $50 and they really want to get my $299. I think I will stick with Slackware or any other Linux distro that doesn't require a fee unless you don't want to burn your own CD's
First of all, I have never seen a 9 digit zip code. Secondly, and more importantly, the crucial data there is your birth date. If that data is not included in the TiVo information, this post means very little. If the BDate is in there, that's a problem.
You have NEVER seen a 9 digit zip code? Do you get mail? ZIP+4 (12345-6789) has been around quite a while now, and except for an occasional letter from my mom, everything has my ZIP+4 code on it now. Any many people have already pointed out that for a lot of people, that the ZIP+4 code has the possibility to be tracked directly to your house address. While I agree that most of these data miners would rather have your birtdate then your street address, I think they will take what they can get.
Admit this: Who of you purchased any SCO product over the last years? How many of you didn't hear about SCO before, or just heard the name without associating it with anything? What share of the computer market does SCO control?
I have. At least a hundred OpenServer licenses and even a couple Unixware licenses in the last 10 years. Up until Y2K we even had a couple XENIX/386 servers out there. At least one medical management software suite that I know of relies heavily on OpenServer. It might not have been the top of the heap, but it served us. Not defending SCO in this latest crap, but there are still a few of us out there that use(d) SCO Unix.
Oh yeah, that would work. I click on those banner ads all the time that blink YOU HAVE A VIRUS or YOUR SOFTWARE IS OUT DATE... Don't you??
I like the idea of using a worms auto-update feature against it. Seriously, would you follow a pop-up that just magically appeared out of no where? Or just look for the little [X].
OMG! Someone is defending spam. This is either flamebait (That is my guess) or a true real life spammer (also pretty likely).
There is NO legitimate e-mail marketing business. Period. (Ok.. I really am easy to bite on the trolls. Sue me.) There are legitimate business use of e-mail. I use it 100x a day to talk to co-workers, ask for help, etc. At home, I use it to talk to my mom, and e-mail my great aunt Dororthy. Oh wait, my great aunt Dorothy can't use e-mail. She almost has a heart attact when she opens the computer and gets deluged by Free HOT XXX TITTIES!@#$# and WACTH MY TEEN FILIPINA DAUGHTER SERVICE THE BUTLER!*$&@
My penis is just the right size, I don't like girls, I have all my hair, I can get it up. I DON'T NEED SPAM!!! These are the people that have fouled the internet. There are also the same people that made e-mail NOT a respectable medium for ads. Noone is going to trust spam. No matter how you package it, no matter what you call it. Death to the spammers (and the lawyer too for that matter).
Oh, and on a side note, Do you really believe that if you click those links at the bottom you will be unsubscribed? HAH! Opt-In, instant unsubscribe, indeed.
Back in the early 90's (maybe still today, I don't live near the border anymore) there was a HUGE market smuggling Canadian packaged cigarettes back over the border to Canada. They would remove the [EXPORT ONLY] cellophane from the entire carton, and take it back with them. Cheap beer here too.
But I think finally Canada has shown her true colors, and now the smug Canadaians that have been bashing on us for the DMCA and the SSSCA now have been burned too (pun intended).
Aparently, for all the./ people that are such OSS and GPL advocates, that you don't seem to understand that they aren't STEALING anything. They took the open source code, modified it for their needs, relabeled it, and distributed it WITH the source code.
Now granted, Gnucleus might be 'better' software, depending on your point of view. I think it was a great idea for a company that had to make due in a pinch. If the developers don't like it, don't give away the source. Go to work at M$ or some other 'evil' corporate software maker.
In Michigan the Secretary of State is the equivelent of the DMV in other states. It is where you get Driver Licenses, Car titles, registrations, etc.

But the worms DID survive! So now we just need to only populate shuttles with worms. Read the story here.
I tried this until lightning zapped my external modem and the serial port. Oh well... Just gave me an excuse to upgrade to TurboNet.

Here is another good one. And this one will also show the shuttle when it is in orbit. http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/tracking/
if it is a DDoS attack, that means that it is not coming from 1 IP but possibly thousands.
