can i get one of these that can take out the squirrels in my garden and the neighbors dog that shits in my yard. That one feature would out rank everything else for me.
on a mostly related note... I spent some time driving around the desert in arizona and new mexico. Every car that drove by at night blinded me in the worst way. It took me several days to figure out that it wasnt just a common thing for all drivers to keep their high beams on all the time ( they werent ), but that the issue was the amount of darkness out there is so great that the contrast to what is needed by urban cars to light a road at night is just painful.
The angle of the road can occur with any lights, and I will give you the point that when it happens with HIDs it is worse than with other bulbs. Many of the factory HID kits are self leveling, which at least reduces the issue as much as possible ( along with being REALLY cool to watch). The aftermarket kits dont do this, and make a mess by pointing all over the place.
Is this issue really the bulbs, or is it the asshole, the truck, or the tailgating ? My preference if someone is really close and trying to blind me is to turn my lights off, and let them light the road for me. Of course, this wouldnt be safe, so I keep coasting to a slower and safer speed. Eventually the asshole figures it out.
yup. be as much of an asshole as you want, treat people like crap, then give a big "just kidding" at the last second. l would rather live a good life, and if there is judgement, then base it on who I really am, not a few short words.
I have witnessed closely several friends take big falls on mountain bikes, and have seen a helmet save at least one from definite serious brain injury, however, I wouldnt say they are needed all the time. I wear helmets a lot, but not for every activity. If I am on a single track, or doing anything with expected high speeds and downhills, or a lot of bikes in proximity, then yes, helmet. If I am riding to the store on slow roads, then the helmet does no good. Your accident is unfortunate, but slamming your face into metal is only protected with full face helmets, and if those become mandatory then I would highly agree that less people would ride. Those things suck on motorcycles.
one of the greatest things I ever discovered is that drivers actually give a lot of space to a bike that is pulling a kids trailer behind it. On the same slow and wide roads, that cars will run within inches of me for no reason, they will swing wide by several feet if the trailer is there.
I pretty much stopped riding when I became a dad, as being in the road is dangerous, and as you say... you will get hit. I now run quite a bit, and have discovered that any activity that is near cars is likely to get you killed... drivers just arent looking for anything but other cars. Even while staying on sidewalks and crosswalks, I will have 3 or 4 situations every week where I just shake my head at how absolutely stupid drivers can be.
yes and no. I tried a search with just "russian ship". The "puckish" article moved down to the third slot, and now Paul Ryan is first, and happens to be giving anti-Obama quotes . No surprise there, and I havent read the article to see if they dismiss him or not, because I dont care. The second article is about NASA and the space station and russian space junk. If these are what appears for this term, then why would DNC not bring up anything about democrats?
The exclusion of one of the parties in the search terms managed to alter the search away from a specific candidate who is a member of the opposite party, which is the interesting piece here. The search using DNC manages to bring up nothing about the DNC, but instead finds potential negatives on a republican.
I wont say they are intentionally directing all searches to negative romney results, but I will say they are burying this specific case. That would have been a more interesting slashdot article. The fact that this happened is old, if large media outlets are hiding it from discovery then there is something to talk about.
I agree with web searches not always being great, but some are using internal google appliances.
2 weeks old is fine, but why, when searching using a term like DNC should I get 2 articles on slip ups of the opponent? This is the equivalent of searching on bing for anything linux, and getting nothing but windows ads. I am not a Romney supporter, but this does this kind of crap only fuels the Glen Becks to scream media bias.
I thought you must be full of shit, so I tried the search myself. Somehow in "DNC russian ship" ABCnews sorting relevance returns.... Puckish Russian Offers Romney a Plane Whose Windows Open... and then... Ohio Slipping Out Of Reach For Romney .
Anyone who wants to deny media supporting a candidate please step up. this is absurd.
oh, that was all so long ago... only half of the Iranian's currently living there are old enough to remember those things. Maybe more would be alive if we hadnt propped up their neighbor who was happily killing them with our chemical weapons, but again, that is history now.
The time limit per call requirement was teh most frustrating, yet the most fun aspect of the job. The best effort to reduce your call times was to ask them to reboot and then call back with the ticket number if the problem continued. Since the problem was not related to rebooting, it came back, and they called back, only to find that the notes in the ticket didnt really help the next tech, but the call time was met!
This was frustrating when the idea of first call resolution ( reducing overall tiem for everyone ) or actually treating customers like humans just got thrown out the window.
The best piece is the QA side had to also judge a specific number of calls per week, so they chose to monitor and grade/judge the shorter calls to be able to meet their numbers. If a customer decided to really start having an attitude, you just string them along until about 13 or 14 minutes, and no one was ever going to hear all of the wonderful things that you can just unload on them. Of course, this meant driving up your average times, so the next 5 or 6 calls would be a race to see how fast you could get them to reboot and call back.
i truly cannot even parse this. A person should be responsible for using "mean spirited" words ? When the deaths were caused on the other end of the world by people who probably never saw the video? The responders could have opted to shout mean spirited words back, or even make their own movie, or go and live their lives in a way that proves the movie-maker wrong. Instead it is decided that murder of random employees of a country whose laws allow people to use "mean spirited" words is a proper response. This proves the movie maker correct more than anything. Things stopped becoming conjecture or slander, and just became pointing out facts real quickly. The movie is obviously an excuse to take action, and this action would have happened anyhow. This wasnt random or authentic rage, or organic in any way. Some of the masses may have been whipped into a frenzy, and been told about this film, but none of the attack makes sense this way... it occured on a very important day, in multiple countries.
As soon as criticism should be punished for the actions of those being criticized is as soon as I start to fight the war. Speech is speech, murder is murder.
Was it a Jewish film-maker? I had read somewhere that it was a Copt. It seemed to me, that if this was the case, that it would make sense that someone who has been actively repressed and driven from their home country for a religious belief, may try to show the world that those who did this to him may be a tad bit wrong in their thinking. This would be done in the US as we do take in many people, and have freedom of religion and expression. It is amazing that those last two things are so powerfully against someone's myth that they must kill to threaten any more horrible thoughts or words against their beliefs.
well... they backed out on the promise once, and failed to fix the issue to prevent it again. Now they have promised to reduce a bill in 60-90 days. So, as of yet, they are just pushing us around hoping we give up. I will only say they gave it back when we see it.
you would think this is a reasonable request. My wife had a twenty dollar charge on a tmobile account, and they said that she had used "premium" network services. She had to pay that time, and went through every formal protest that she could just to record that it wasnt her and we would not pay twice. All of the texting plans outside of pure data ( g-chat, g-voice, email , etc) had already been disabled. 2 months later it happened again. We had to fight tooth and nail to get them to remove the charge, and then they ended up forgetting the promise to undo the charge and said it was our responsibility to have the charges removed by the vendor... completely ignoring the fact that as no service was purchased, there was no vendor to speak with. They also tried to say that anyone with the phone's email address could place charges to the number , and the tmobile would just pass through the charges. We knew this was obvious bullshit, and got the guy to bac down on that one. Hours later they finally realised that this is their issue, and that they were about to lose customers, so they gave the cash back " within 90 days".
I recently had to put up with this for a nonsense "speech" course. I bought a used book, then found out about the access codes on the first day of class. You could buy access codes separately, but the teacher announced on the third day that all codes had a problem, that she would circulate a single code to the entire class, but in order for any work to count, students had to being in a receipt from the college book store. No other choice was given. It was pure extortion.
(Arijit thought nothing of delaying over a hundred people for his temper tantrum)
what you say is true except for this. Any delay in security is the responsibility of the person being delayed. They wont hold the plane for you. The rules specifically state a recommendation to show up early as security may hold you up, and the only person responsible for the ticket holder getting to the plane is the ticket holder. If TSA feels like talking to you for just enough time for you to miss your flight, then you miss your flight and you should have shown up earlier or gotten along with the gestapo in a more timely fashion.

5 percent tint also works wonderfully when the problem is the car behind you.

your definition is correct, but I imagine that it isn't quite as easy as you make it sound.
tech has been screwing up education ever since reading and writing took the place of memorization.

I did a call center job once. ONCE.

there is going to be a lot of urgent business that needs personal attention from congressmen in S korea and China real soon.

if done correctly, there is no defense
